SOURCE: TV volume increases by itself and doesn't decrease or respond to the remote control

Apparently this seems to be a known issue for this model. I called Phillips and they did not even bother asking me to try things like switch off and on again etc...They just said they are going to send someone to pick it up and fix it. I would suggest to everyone to do the same since it has to be free of charge because the problem appears in pretty much every tv set of this model.

Have a Techwood 55inch smart TV. It's just done a update but now the only sound we get is through the sound bar. Press volume up on tv remote, numbers go up but no increase in sound. Any ideas?

My TV has a setting to shut off the internal speakers. Like yours, if it is set to off, then I can turn up the volume with the TV remote and the volume does not increase, even though the volume number goes up. Maybe your TV has a similar setting.

Volume intermittently increases all the way to 100 and cannot be controlled by the remote

This happens with some models. You can open the TV from the back and disconnect the connector for the side control board. You will only have control via the remote but your volume issue should be resolved.

Model #57733 - Volume will randomly increase without notice. Remote control no longer communicating. Have tried the reset button.

Hi,

the volume control is increasing randomly on it's own because the volume button on the TV is partially stuck in, that is why its coming up occasionally. This same thing may also happen to the remote control of the TV.

Use your find to rub the buttons on the buttons on the TV, especially the volume control button. Do same on the remote and most definitely problem should be solved.

Please give me a feedback if solution does not work for you.

Regards.

Remote code for commtel control freak remote.

I can help you with your URC-3021 Universal Remote Control issues.

I do not see a listing for Alba TVs in the Urc-3021 Code List.

But don't give up; many manufacturer's re-use other's control codes.
Therefore, I recommend using the One For All URC-3021 Code Search, feature to find the compatible codes to control your device.

I hope that helps.

Having connected up my PVR915OT I am unable to increase the volume on the TV to a reasonable level of volume using the Humax handset- can you offer a solution please?

As far as I recall, the volume control on the PVR remote only controls the volume from the PVR. So, select the volume fully up (using the PVR remote) then increase the volume on the TV (using the TV remote) until it's as loud as you can stand. You can then adjust (decrease) the the volume to suit using the PVR remote.

The volume does not change when connected to my tv. The volume does change when i play dvd's. I have had it working before but since I have moved it does not. please help.

TV remote varies the TV amplifier drive - you are probably plugged into the "line" output of the TV (which is before the TV amplifier). Line out is a fixed level (your DVD preamplifier is controlled by the DVD remote).

Anyway, with the TV on - go to the home theater box and increase the volume there. Once you get that set, you should be able to use the Home theater remote to always control the volume for everything displayed on your TV (except channel changes)

Volume increases to 30 can't turn down

I don't have a solution but if you take off the speaker grille on the front of the set and see two ribbonish cables, unplug the smaller one. The volume will not increase anymore but you cannot use the controls on the front of the tv and the power light will not show green anymore. You can however use the remote to do everything on the set that you would normally do. Hope this helps until I find a real solution.
