My asko dishwasher is making a loud continuous noise when the power knob is on. It's being generated by the soap dispenser latch vibrating when the power is on. If I turn off the pwr button, it stops.

SOURCE: noise

Hey.  I had the same problem with my 701 about a year and a half ago.  A great tech came out and had a very simple solution that fixed the problem: clean out the fan.  A lot of lint collects down there and causes the dryer to become incredibly noisy.  It's so easy to do and whenever the problem resurfaces - every 4 months, or so - I now take care of it myself.  To see if this is the same problem you're having, just pop the lower panel off, then remove the fan cover (you'll just need a screwdriver for each).  You can pull the fan out and remove any lint that's collected, and wash with a brush and water.  Replace everything and see if it solves the problem.  Good luck.

Updated question - What would cause a Whirlpool Dishwasher DU1148XTPB3 Soap Dispenser's trigger/spring to continuously try to open the soap dispenser after it has been opened.

here are a few possible causes for a dishwasher soap dispenser's trigger/spring to continuously try to open the dispenser after it has been opened:

The trigger/spring mechanism may be damaged or broken. This could be caused by normal wear and tear over time, or it could be the result of a foreign object getting stuck in the mechanism.
The dishwasher's control board may be malfunctioning. If the control board is not functioning properly, it could send a signal to the soap dispenser to continuously open and close.
There may be a problem with the dishwasher's timer or motor. If the timer or motor is not working properly, it could cause the soap dispenser to malfunction.
To troubleshoot the problem, you could try cleaning the soap dispenser and checking for any foreign objects that may be stuck in the mechanism. You could also try resetting the dishwasher by turning off the power and unplugging it for a few minutes, then plugging it back in and turning it on. If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to call a professional for further assistance or to consider replacing the soap dispenser.

Soap dispenser for Asko Model D5434 won't latch closed. What is the remedy

Replace soap dispenser door or possibly whole dispenser assembly

Soap dispenser won't stay closed

Only two reasons this may happen. One is the dispenser is just bad (most likely) or that the timer is somehow malfunctioning and sending power to the soap dispenser all the time (least likely) You will usually know if its the second because the dispenser will get really warm after the dishwasher had been on for a few minutes.

My Asko D1716 dishwasher works fine apart from the soap dispenser. It won't open to release the soap.

Most likely it's a corroded door catch or a bad solenoid. Hopefully it's not the main control board. You'll need a repair manual or technician. A work around would be to use detergent tablets in the compartment

Water won't fill and makes a loud noise

if it is not filling, but continuing the circuit, the first thing i would check is your float switch make sure its not stup up
or remove the toe kick and look under the machine
and you can check the switch the float switch sits on under the machine

Asko 1876 dishwasher soap flap opens as soon as power on.

I don't know about the control panel - I am having trouble with mine too, but in regard to the soap dispenser -- don't use it anymore. Just buy those little tablets. That is what the secretary at the repair shop told me when I had a problem and that's been fine.
