Atomic clocks are tricky. The clock defaults to PST.
Turn OFF the atomic time feature (The little radar icon will disappear) Make sure that you have clicked the DST/TZONE button on the back of the clock to YOUR timezone (a P,M,C,or E icon will appear on the front screen.) Then turn the atomic feature ON and hopefully - all is well!

I read the manual which said to depress the alarm button. That wasn't the right button but I found that depressing the button next to it, the DST button, that that fixed the problem.

The four time zones are P is Pacific, M is Mountain, C is Central and E is Eastern Time zone. Press the SET button to confirm or leave the setting to confirm and exit automatically.
