SOURCE: cartridge alignment

So if the magenta or yellow are not showing up, it may mean you have installed an empty (or dried up) color cartridge. If you have it, put the "low" volume color cartrige back in and print an alignment page. If you don't have the cartridge, no problem, just print a page from Google. Don't worry about the alignment until you print from Google. See if color is even available. ZT3000 "Beta tester of "0"s and "1's"

SOURCE: HP psc 2110 Printer keeps

Switch off your printer. After one minute Switch on the printer. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Observe Cartridge contact points and clean it with rubber eraser carefully. Make sure that you never touch the contacts with your fingers or body parts. Touching may cause your cartridge reject by the printer. First install Black then the Colour. Place one paper in the paper feeder. I think your printer print an alignment page automatically after inserting the cartridges. After printing the page, place it the scanner (refer your printer manual) and I think you have to press the scan button. This will correct your problem. Every time you remove the cartridge and re-insert it, the printer will ask and print alignment page. you have to do the alignment every time. If you ignore the alignment printing you will get the same problem again and again. I experienced the same on some models.

SOURCE: align cartridges error

This means one of the cartridges is defective, they cant align if they cant print.  What i did to fix this problem is insert 2 working cartridges and get it to align properly, even if they are low on ink, then lift the cover and the cartridges will move to the center.  When this happens pull the power cable out, then insert the full non functioning cartridge. Plug the power cable back in.  I tried this with a color cartridge, the color cartridge was non functioning but i was able to print in black.
Basically you align the cartridges and then swap them so the printer thinks they are still aligned.
The color still doesnt work and it is probably a defective color cartridge.

After changing ink carteidge it keep saying align cartridge, what can i do to erase this error?

It is my pleasure to guide you.

These steps will take you through the process of replacement and alignment.

HP PSC 2175 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1. Turn on the unit, then open the print-carriage access door by lifting the
handle until the door locks into place. The print carriage moves to the center of the unit.

2. After the carriage stops moving, lift the latch to release the print cartridge, then pull it toward you out of its slot.

3. If you are removing the black print cartridge in order to install the photo print cartridge, store it in the print cartridge protector.

4. Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging and, being careful to touch only the black plastic, gently remove the plastic tape.

Caution! Do not touch the copper contacts or ink nozzles.

5. Push the new print cartridge into the appropriate slot until it clicks into place. The tri-color print cartridge goes on the left and the black or photo print cartridge goes on the right.

6. Pull the end of the latch toward you, press down until it stops, and then release. Make sure the latch catches below the bottom tabs.

7. Close the print-carriage access door.

align the print cartridges

The HP PSC prompts you to align cartridges every time you install or replace a print cartridge.

Aligning the cartridges ensures high-quality output.

To align the print cartridges when prompted:
1. Press Enter on the front panel. A page of patterns is printed. The cartridges are aligned correctly. Recycle or discard the page.

To align the cartridges at any other time:
1. Press Setup.
2. Press 2, then press 2.
This selects Maintenance, and then selects Align Print Cartridges.
A page of patterns is printed. The cartridges are aligned correctly. Recycle or discard the page.
I found the manual for this printer, if you do not have it already. If you wish to download it click or copy this link

Good luck and please post back that you are successful and give thumbs up if my solution has worked for you. If I can be more helpful just reply.

Installed a new black cartridge and it will not align. Returned it to store and installed a second black cartridge and it will not align. Old one will but is low on ink. News ones will not print any black.

1. Load letter or A4 unused plain white paper into the input tray.
2. Press Setup.
3. Press 6, then press 2.

This selects Tools and then selects Align Print Cartridge. The HP all-in-one prints a print cartridge alignment sheet and aligns the print cartridges. Recycle or discard the page.

Always starts up and does an alignment page.

  1. After installing a new print cartridge, wait at least 20 seconds for the print cartridge alignment process to start.
  2. Wait for the print cartridge alignment process to fully complete.
  3. Make sure that the alignment page has printed on plain, white paper that has no other printing on it. If you need to create a new alignment page, load the tray with letter or A4 unused plain white paper and turn the product off and on again to create the page.
after the alignment page prints then place the alignment sheet on the scanner glass and press the ok button

When I change the black ink cartridge, the alignment page and instruction page are printing out fine. When I place the alignment page on the glass as instructed and press 'ENTER', the printer gives a...

I just had the same issue (align page not detected).

We had just re-installed the empty color cartridge back into the printer (long story but basically we knew we could only print B/W).

The align page printout had a lot of empty spaces around the black lines. This is apparently where the color lines are supposed to print.

Without those color lines, the printer would not detect the align page as color is part of the alignment being done.

Since we only wanted black printouts, I pressed 'cancel' to stop the alignment process, and now we just hit the Black copy button and ignore the alignment prompt on the printer window.

The HP site (enter psc750 in product window) has some helpful ideas as to what the problem might also be. It could be the shipping tape is still on the new cartridge (and preventing the black or color from printing on the align sheets) etc.

Printer will not copy

It Does keep asking if it fails to get it right, usually it fails to get scan of alignment page completed correctly because it fails to see one of the colours printed on its alignment page correctly,
I would guess that you should change colour cartridge as well (these I have seen deplete themselves trying print black when black ink is not present.

There is also a way of telling your printer to forget about alignment would you like to know how......Press and hold the Setup button, and then press Options (or Copy Options ).

Here is a link to how an alignment page should look and HP answers to your problem, please rate my solution for me.
