I have a similar problem. My network card is on, I have an ethernet modem that acknowledges the wireless connection, and the Pocket PC itself says that it's connected, but whenever I try to connect to a site with Internet Explorer, it tells me, "The page you are looking for cannot be found," even though I can connect to the same site on my computer. I'm pretty certain there isn't a WEP key (How do I find out for sure?). Help!I have a similar problem. Hello
I'm sorry to say but this looks like a corrupted ROM issue. The ROM memory stores your operating system and some parts of the firmware. If it becomes corrupted (various reasons) the PDA can't boot up the operating system, resulting in the strage situation you are experiencing. You can't connect it via active sync because it can't be detected as it can't boot anymore. It is very weird that this occured because of running an oficial upgrade. This leads me to suspect that there is something phisically rong with the wi-fi module on the pda's mainboard. You will need to take it to a service center to have it examined first. They will also put a specially made bootable sd card to reinstall the operating system is a way similar with computer windows instalation by booting from a cd. Most logically the wi-fi module has a problem and when trying to acces it by rewriting it's firmware (part of ROM) this resulted in the corruption of some ROM sectors.
I'm sorry that this isn't a do-it-yourself type of fix, but it would be safest to ask a service center to examine your PDA's mainboard.
If u use a WLAN access point,
you should:
1. configure your wlan router to allow internet
2. choose "WORK" in the network connections configuration dialogs.
and maybe you will have to configure the proxy server too.
I suspect this is a powersaving issue:
u need to play with the system power saving configuration dialogs, and turn off WLAN card power saving.
maybe you will have to give completely up the power saving - only backlit.
You have two possibilities to connect your PDA to internet. First one is to use connection of your PC or Notebook. Check please connection settings under Start>Settings>Connections. If you want to make automatically connection to Internet, use first option. Under “Modify” you have possibility to create new connection.
Did you already try to make connection like this?
Look on
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/help/pocketpc/ossupport.aspx
There you can find lots of useful information how to connect PDA to Internet.
If you want to make connection using Bluetooth, look at
https://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com . There you can find Bluetooth SD Card 2 which you need for Bluetooth connection.
I have read some Information about Toshiba PDAs. There is a technique called SD™ IO card. In the technical specifications I found this Info:
1 x SD™ card slot (supports SD™ memory card, SD™ IO card, MultiMedia card)
So when SD™ IO card is the same as Bsquare SDIO Now! tecnique...
How much I know there are no limits. I have information that with 1GB Card there are no problems. It can be that if you use Card with high memory capacity PDA can read data somewhat more slowly.
For connecting the internet you have to some some settings
I have found some informations how to do!
1. Obtain the following information from your ISP: ISP server phone number, user name, and password.
2. Tap Start > Settings > Connections tab > Connections.
3. In My ISP, tap Add a new modem connection.
4. Create a modem connection.
I found this info at
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/help/pocketpc/ossupport.aspx
If no one has any solution for your issue in my opinion you should check the manufacturer’s site. Maybe there you can find out if this unit is compatible with your PDA. Usually you can find it under support or FAQs.
