I did try another card and it still shows "Memory card error" It's like the spring isn't working. I can get it to stay in the slot if I wiggle the card but the error message still show up. I also tried to go in and re-format the card but the formatting menu is not highlighted and you can't get to it. Ugh of course...just when I need my camera. Any other suggestions??? Thanks!

This happens most of the time with digital camera and mobile phones, if you try to insert the memory card in a wrong direction. Before inserting your memory card, look into the slot hole and see the position of contact terminals and insert your card in such way that the card comes with contact with the terminals inside the slot. If your card already got struck into the slot, try removing it by pulling out using a small nose plier. Also try with another memory card of similar type to detect any problem due to your memory card. I hope this will help you out.

SD card won't stay in the slot of my Panasonic Lumix DMC-SL80

is the lock on the card by chance. also depending on how old the camera is and how big the sd card is in gb. the lumix may not be able to handle that size of card, too many gb. My lumix would only accept up to 4 gb, so when I moved to 16 they did not work.

I have a LG CF360 and I am trying to insert the memory card, but I can't get it to stay completely inserted.

Hello.

Insert the memory card into the slot until the memory card is fully inserted into the slot. Note that the gold connectors must be facing down and inserted first into the memory card slot.

Hope this helps.

Memory card wont stay in my phone. whenever i push my memory card into the slot it just comes back up

Perhaps it has a latch mechanism - you have to push it a bit deeper inside, and then it will latch into place. To remove, push it again deeper and it will pop out.
If it's not the case, perhaps your socket is a bit worn out, and/or the card is thinner then usual - you can try to increase the friction by applying some self-stick paper or tape on top of your card to make it a little bit thicker.

How to eject RS-MMC card from card reader slot in acer 4736 ?

Usually there is a spring latch: press the card deeper into the PC, and it will click out.

If it doesn't, the spring may not have engaged, or may be broken. To extract a stubborn memory card, it usually has two grooves on the top and bottom to allow extraction by hand using your fingernails. Some cards don't have the grooves though, and for those you can use a pair of tweezers, or use two strong sewing needles as "prybars" from the left and right side of the card simultaneously.

If it still doesn't work, something went really really wrong with the latch and you'd best send it to assistance. As an extreme resort ONLY, wet the short side of an unfolded paper clip with Loctite glue, and taking the utmost care not to touch ANYTHING but the short side of the memory card, stick it to the memory card's short side. The traction made available by half an inch of Loctite on a steel paper clip should be enough to tear the memory card apart, let alone extract it. But if you need that much force, chances are that you'll end up destroying the reader: that's why I suggest going to the assistance if things come to that.

On the left side of the machine i pushed a button and a small pa

That is the PCMCIA eject button. With no card in the PCMCIA slot (Slot empty) you should be able to push the button in slowly till it clicks, then release and the button should stay in. Then re-insert the blank filler or card you had in the slot. (To engage the retention detent, you have to press the button in slightly past the outside of the chassis)

If the button will not engage the detent, then the motherboard will need to be replaced to fix it (The button is part of the motherboard)

My vivitarN1659 will not reconize a1gb memory card and either states that the memory is full or that the memory is locked

There should be a tiny lever on the side of the memory card. Unlock the card by pushing the lever up. If it still says memory card is full, take out the battery and push the memory card further into the slot. It should not move while it is in the slot. If it "floats" when you close the battery door, it is not down far enough into the slot. Return the battery and close the door.

Memory card wiped clean!

The only time I have had this happen, is when the cicuit card inside slid back.  This keep it from connecting to the PS2 memory slot. It is simple to repair, open the memory card up and slide it forward infront of the stay that supposed to keep it forward.  If the stay is broken, then put someting inside the memory card  to keep the circuit card pushed forward.
