Question about Canon PowerShot A560 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Canon S2IS Either screen is dark when I power up the camera. I can see previous images but I cannot record anything. Sometimes I can reboot the camera and it will work for a shot or two, but currently even that does not work. I have changed batteries with no good results. They power up everything but do not affect the recording of pics. Jeff Canon S1IS have problem with dark screen... I have a brand new Canon PowerShot A560 Digital Camera. I put in brand new batteries. On after shooting no more than 30  pictures I received a "change batteries" message. What should I do?

Your camera has the know issue of Stuck shutter, whichhappens after some time (weeks or months) thata camera is notused.

Unfortunately the repair of it requires a complete disassembly of the camera, including the lens, fix it, and then put back together everything.

Definitely requires th skills, tools and experience to do it, so it's recommended that a professional camera repair center is performing this type of repair.

If you look for a reliable and low cost repair service for it, you can look in ebay for such repair services.

Example, look for seller ID Great_items_2004 or with the keywords "Shutter black S2".

Best regards,

No image is captured by the screen itself (LCD screen works but completely dark).

Did you try pressing the display button several times? in both viewing mode and record mode? Cycle through all display modes, s you get used to the button, so it does not trow you off when it happens again.

Lens screen stuck open and no image on LCD view screen.

It is jamming, the only really fix is to have it repaired, that costs a lot and it is sometimes better to just replace the camera.

Screen black r1

Can you come into the menus? Just to check you did not change anything? Sometimes the monitor or display stays black in record mode, because the camera was put in power save mode. In the manual you can find hoe to switch it on again. Has to do, with what you want to see during record mode. Just the image, image with info, sometimes with a grid and then display off.

My canon pc 1058 image screen is dark .. i can't see anything..so no pics can be taking

Two things there, first... could be a problem with the viewer screen, or, second choice could be a problem with the CCD sensor or go to bad; in both cases this isn't a job that you could solve yourself; this wrong include distorted images or abnormal colors, scratchy purple lines, blank or black pictures, and/or black videos with good sound being recorded on the camera's flash card.

I suggest check THIS LINK for additional details in this previous solutions for an Defective CCD (Charge Coupled Device) and next contact your Canon service.
I strongly suggest (taking into consideration the age of your camera) to evaluate the cost of repair versus the cost of a new camera with similar features, before making a final desicion.

Hope this helps.

The images apprear purple on the screen, and dark in patches. New photo's taken, come out purple. But existing photo's appear on the screen as, normal.

Hi,

If the previously captured images are appearing fine in the Camera, then the issue is with the CCD Image Sensor unit only. Check if the display icons are appearing normally on the Camera screen.

Try power resetting and Factory resetting the Camera to check if the issue can be resolved:
Power reset:
Remove the batteries from the Camera.
Press and hold the POWER BUTTON of the Camera for 15 seconds.
Then, reinsert the batteries after 1 minute.
Factory reset;
To reset the Camera back to factory default, select the INITIALIZE Option from the Main Settings 1 Menu of the Camera to OK.

Home-->Settings-->Main Settings 1-->Initialize-->OK

Dark screen on my video-camera Canon MV700i

I have the same problem, it appears that this camera is one of many cameras that have problems with the CCD (image sensor) have a look at this site for more info www.imaging-resource.com/badccds.html

I hadn't used mine for about 9 months, when I went to use it the screen was black with a bit of flicker. Canon are still fixing them if you're from the UK have a peep here - https://self-service.canon-europe.com/uk/pages/

Hope that helps

Images can't show on the screen

first check the iris of the camera if it is opening,you will see this when you look inside the lens of the camera when you turn on and off the switch at camera mode if the iris is opening....if the iris is ok the second problem may occurs of your camera is the ccd image sensor....go to a sony service center for replacing that...i know it is free for replacing that sensor cause that is the recall product not only on sony but in other brand because the manufacturer of their sensor is only one company...
