SOURCE: Laptop will not power on.

Hi,

It is possible that one of the soldered terminals/pins of the power jack of the laptop is disconnected. You can try gently moving the plug of the Charger/AC adapter while connected and see if an indicator light will lit (even if momentarily). If yes, then it is safe to assume that a terminal/pin is loose and would need to be resoldered. If no, then since there is power from the Charger/AC adapter, the laptop's internal circuitry maybe at fault. Most probably parts in the regulator circuitry. This could be as simple as a surface mounted fuse or a 3 terminal voltage regulator. In any case, the unit has to be opened and diagnosed. To do so, you must be familiar with electronic components/circuitry, use of a DVM and a low wattage soldering iron. Should you be uncomfortable with this, perhaps your best bet would be to seek the services of a qualified laptop technician.

Hope this be of some idea/help. Post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

SOURCE: my ibm laptop's mother board cannot power on, please help me solve it

The most likely problem is that the onboard power supply has failed, usually a capacitor has burned out. Or it could be a loose DC supply socket (they only need to have one loose pin on the motherboard.)

My toshiba laptop l505-s5988 is charging not installing power

Can you be able to power up your laptop using charger only? (without battery installed)
If your laptop can't be charged while on, I assume you can only charge it when it's off.
There're 2 possibilities:
1>
Your charger is defective.
It's not a total failure issue, only the built-in chipset is compromised, so you cannot get the correct voltage your laptop needed.
Your laptop will refuse to accept the charger in this condition.
2>
Your battery is defective.
You can find another toshiba l505 charger to rule out this possibility.

IBM Thinkpad X60- Charging LED ( Amber) flashes continuosly- battery NOT charging

An incompatible charger could be doing this, as could a failed battery charging circuit in the notebook. It is also possible that the battery is no longer capable of accepting a charge. The universal charger must be able to provide the same voltage as the original charger and have an equal or higher rating for wattage or current.

My ibm wont turn on unless the charger is in it just wont turn on.

The battery must have gone bad! if its three or more years old you need to get a new battery for the computer. Periodic conditioning of the battery from first use may prolong the battery life. Battery life is reduced by plugging computer with battery all the time.
Conditioning. Periodic full charge and full discharge practice is good for battery. Batteries are better charged when they are at less than 10% power and its better to charge them to 100%. Do not leave on electric power once they are fully charged.
I hope this helps in future but current battery may need replacement!

When i Plug my charger with my laptop the charging powers stables where it is. It does not increase at all but it decrease when i remove my charger.

Your DC connections is loose on the system board:

Problem symptoms:

  1. Laptop randomly shuts down without any warning.
  2. Power LED and battery charge LED start flickering when you wiggle the power cord or the AC adapter tip on the back or your laptop.
  3. The battery will not get charged.
  4. When you plug AC adapter, the laptop appears to be dead and there is no LED activity at all (DC-IN jack on the system board is broken).

Find your manual:

HMM will provide you instructions for troubleshooting, diagnostics, removal and replacement laptop hardware. All IBM HMMs are publicly available. You can find HMM for your laptop on the IBM website or you can follow the link below. All HMMs are in pdf format, so you can download them and use at your convenience. Check charging with a different charger. Or check the voltage output of the charger. It seems that the charger is out.

Battery not recharging.

Look on the charger itself & it will have the correct output voltage & polarity stamped on the charger. Then get a volt meter to verify if the correct output voltage is present. If the volt meter reads less than what is stamped on the charger, then I would recommend replacing the charger at that point.

Not charging

try to pull out the battery and run the laptop on the charger...if the laptop starts, then it's an issue with the battery....else have the charging port checked out by a certified technician.
