Most gas ovens have the flame regulated by the oven thermostat. It may be adjustable down the centre of the thermostat shaft but a lot of newer ovens are not adjustable anymore. You may need a new thermostat if the oven isn't getting hot enough.
Testimonial: "My oven is getting to hot the flame covers the whole bottom of my oven"
Wow, that's not good. If its too much flame, there may also be a problem with the burner itself. I have seen some brands where the burner has corroded out and flame comes out where its not supposed to. It could still be the thermostat letting in too much gas. I would suggest getting a gas tech who does these ovens to have a look. It obviously isn't safe to use.
I've got my gas guy coming on Saturday hope he can fix it . I only got it in may
Check with the manufacturer / Retailer. It should still be under warranty. Most ovens have 2 year warranty.
If it can't get fixed it is going back I have rang the company and they can't tell me if it can be adjustedted or not
ok, I hope the Tech gets it sorted for you. Not good that a new oven does this. Good luck
Thank you I'll let you know how I go
Hi Steve oven is fixed I found the screw behind the oven knob so my installer just turn it all the way down like it said in the book
Good to hear Julie. Glad its sorted. Cheers.

greg, sounds like your needle valve is not seated. Remove the bottom drawer. Look back to the base of the burner where the shutter air adjustment is. Right under there is the valve which should have a 1/2 inch or 7/16 nut. (I Forgot what size). Turn this nut clockwise until the flame is adjusted to the correct size, should be a nice blue flame. The nut maybe hard to turn because you are seating the needle. Catriver..post back

Did you adjust the orifice on the saftey valve all the way down (turning it clockwise with a wrench)? The orifice is what the burner sits on top of.

we had the same problem on our 10 yr old creda. gas man said new ffd required (flame failure device). he reckoned on around 80 pounds sterling for new part, even if it was still available, plus maybe 2 hours labour. we bought a new cooker!

Al, you need to seat the needle valve on the bake. Remove the bottom drawer, right below the bake burner you will see the nut just below the air shutter adjustment. Turn this nut clockwise a few times, it might seem hard but just do it. Then try the bake again, you should have a nice bluel flame. Tenbears.

HI, To adjust the size of the flame, turn the orfice clockwise to make it smaller. you can also try and adjust the air shuttle on the burner.
Are you trying to change from natural to LP?
Please let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks
