How do i get the play back on both speakers on any program , my othercheap mic works on both speakers, but my
Samson C01U condenser usb mic only works on the left speaker. Is there anything i can do, or should i return my possibly defective mic.

I have a similar problem. The sound is still decent, but I notice that when I record on Garageband or Logic, the levels are not even at all. The bottom level (R speaker) barely gets into the yellow, even if the L speaker level is in the red. I don't think it was always like this. Let me know if there's something we can do.

I got the same problem. IT MAKE RECORDING VERY DIFFICULT!.. I am getting so frustrated with this. it either records way more out the left then the right or the other way around. I checked the balance and that was fine. I have tried re-installing my mircophone but it says "not a valid win32 application," I obviously installed it before. I believe the problem is the disc is scratched I am trying to get techincal support on any of this. Any information please contact me at [email protected]

    Thanx

HI, your mic is not defective it is just a simple step. If you are using a Mac. Go to your 'audio midi setup' (in the utilities folder in application folder). Select your samson mic in the left hand column. Change the format to '1 channel 16 bit', Check the main volume is sufficient. Now your mic will record with equal volume on both channels.

The quick, easy solution is to change your microphone to mono recording. In the attached YouTube clip, I'll show you how to do that.

The short and simple is to go to your Mac HD -> Applications -> Utilities -> Audio MIDI Setup. Select your C01U USB device, and set it to 1ch 16bit. This will set the microphone to record in mono, equally over both speakers.

Microphones are not stereo! There's only one channel because there's only one mic.

You should only be recording from the left channel and then playing it back in stereo to hear the same thing in both speakers. When you set up the mic for recording, choose "mono mode" or "left channel only".

It seems that the Samson driver has been reported to have some problems with stereo. Your choices are to use the mic in mono (which most recording is done in anyway) or unistall the SoftPre App which Samson provides with the mic and select a generic driver.

Hi i have connected the Samson G-track with my macbook. also i using Nicecast & Traktor for radio broadcasting. when i talk from Samson G Track my voice comes only from left speaker. I try the...

This is because the G Track's Mic signal is on the Left channel and the Instrument signal is on the Right channel. You are making a stereo recording when you should be making 2 mono recordings. Does Nicecast have an option to set the track to mono Left channel? Traktor should, but I haven't used it so I can't tell you where the option is. There's probably a Track Input drop-down or something like that.

Cant get any sound from mic!!!!

Go into Play control on your computer. Click on options then properties. Look at your settings for playback and recording. Check play control and your source eg. microphone. To reach this double click on the speaker icon in your toolbar or you can find it under sounds and devices in your control panel.

Samson co1u recording issue

you first 3 people are idiots... maybe if you had worked with the hardware you would know how the mic works because its obvious you don't. The 4th person is correct because this is exactly how i use the mic and it captures sound in stereo format beautiful when set up rite. Using it in mono, whether use keep on one channel or two drastically reduces the crisp sound that this mic can record.
