I have a GE a735. I do not have my charger that plugs into an outlet, but I do have the usb cord. Can I charge my camera with the usb cord, because I have changed out the batteries a few times and it just wont even turn on for me.

Go to the GE website, consult your manual if you still have it, go to RadioShack and see if they might have a replacement charging cord. Maybe at the GE website you can order the charging cord. Good luck.

You need a mains USB charger, it is a standard 5volts device with a minimum of 500ma. They are easily available. Plug the USB cord into the charger instead of the PC.
Sometimes the block transformers on phone chargers go bad. I'm assuming it uses a micro usb plug like most phones do now. The easiest way to check is to borrow a charger from someone else or if you have a kindle charger use it to see if the phone will charge. If it does don't go back to the phone store to get another one because they charge an arm and a leg. You can order the chargers for most phones online for half of what you pay at a phone store.
If the lighter outlet works with a cig lighter, the plug for your GPS may not be making contact with the center point in the outlet. may have dirt and debris in the bottom of the outlet You may also have a blown fuse.
Use the supplied battery charger. Remove the battery from the camera, put it into the charger, and plug the charger into a power outlet.
Connect the camera via a USB cord to a powered USB outlet. Be aware that not all computer USB ports put out enough current to charge the battery. You might want to consider a cell phone charger that plugs into a power outlet.
Get a USB wall charger. These are AC adapters that plug directly into the outlet. You then plug the USB from your MP3 into the port on the adapter.

Acquire Apple iPod specific chargers. When you need to charge your iPod music player through an outlet, look for the Universal USB car charger or the Universal USB travel charger made specifically for Apple products.
Make sure that you have your player on a power strip or surge protector so that if you get a surge you wont fry your player.
