SOURCE: MacBook Software Updater - continually prompts to install an update

You're probably not actually flashing the firmware, but downloading the utility to do so. Follow these steps:
1. Quit all other open applications. Open the MacBook Pro EFI Firmware update which is in your Utilities directory

2. Click Shut Down in the MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update window and wait for your computer to shut down.

3. Press and hold the power button on your MacBook Pro until the power indicator light flashes repeatedly, then release the power button to begin the update.

A status bar indicates the progress of the update.

Important: Do not interrupt the update.

Your computer restarts automatically when the update is completed and opens the MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update.

4. Click OK, if the firmware is now up-to-date.

Obvious it's a software problem.I strongly recommand downgrading from the OFFICIAL SITE or a trusty one the previous version that you had before or you could try 1.3 1.2 untill you find a working one.

Blueant s4 stuck in DFU mode, does nothing, hung up while in the middle of upgrade firmware from 1.5 t 1.6 need the software to re flash it

I know this link is old but the same problem happened today to my new device a s4
I tried to update the device and the update program stopped halfway through.I tried this several times and each
time after the program stopped dead halfway through I pressed the cancel button and followed onscreen prompts,
I then noticed that the device would not respond and was just a dead piece of kit.It seems that it was still in
DFU mode(update mode)and needed the software to install an update to get it to work again.
It seems that the problem could be how the device reacts to the type of motherboard I have on my PC.BluAnt mention
issues with ASUS boards on their site wioth another device.
at the office. So after dozens of tries to get the s4 to update using the downloaded updater from Blueant,
I went into Windows Explorer and found the directory 'BluAnt Universal Updater' I copied the directory to my
memory stick and then took it home. On my PC at home I copied over the BAUU directory. Downloaded and ran the updater program
....and.....it installed the update within a couple of minutes. It seems that the update program downloads the update to a
directory within the BAUU directory and also places a 'Backup' directory there from your device, so if a problem occurs you can
tell the updater program to update from a file on your hard drive. Please pass this 'fix' on.
