Assuming you can still control the thing for flight I assume your complaint is just about the display on the controller for in flight video. This could be a problem localized to just the controller, my most likely bet. A bad display caused by a faulty backlight for the lcd, maybe a bad connection between the inverter for the CCFL backlight could be a likely culprit. Have you dropped the controller? Shine a flashlight onto the screen when you think you should be getting video, have the drone looking at something with high contrast like large black lettering on a white background, where the light shines on the display on the controller do you see the image? This would indicate a bad backlight. You could alway take the controller apart and look for a bad connection, specifically the flat ribbon cable that connects the LCD to the mainboard and the black/red wires between a inverter board to the CCFL backlight that is behind the LCD display.
Or if that sounds like a lot of work, try for a warranty return.

you will need to unplug the machine at the mains, give it two minutes and the auto door lock will release your duvet, however start saving the pennies as your pcb is knackered and you'll be looking at about £200 to fix it

Call Sony so they can fix it. This sounds like multiple problems. Good luck.

Measure the connector from the logic board to the power supply the second pin from the left it will say Vs_ On if the set has 3.1 volts the problem is the SSB or the logic board. On the logic board there should be a solid led and a flashing led that shown that data id flowing and the problem is the SSB. The SSB is easy to replace just remember what you tokk loose and from where. You probely will save money that way. If the set is in warranty or just out of warranty contact Philips 1-888-744-5477 and see what they can do first.

SOURCE: screen goes black, power light stays green. display only stays on a couple of seconds
This happened to me and I was able to fix it. I cracked it opened and found a bad capacitor, bought a replacement at Radio Shack and I'm back in business. Actually using it right now to post this.
