U150 error on canon mx885

Solution 1:
  • Open the paper output tray.
  • Turn on the printer and open the scanning unit. The printer cartridge carriage will move to the center. Open the inner cover securing the cartridge in place by pulling it downward.
  • Press the tab on the problematic ink cartridge and lift it to remove it from the printer. You will be able to tell which ink cartridge is causing the problem because its indicator light will be off or flashing.
  • Open the replacement ink cartridge and pull the orange tape in the direction of the arrow to remove the protective film. Tear the orange tape off along the dotted line.
  • Place the ink cartridges into the printer and press where indicated on the cartridge until it clicks into place. Ensure that all ink cartridges have a red indicator light showing that they are properly installed.
  • Close the inner cover on the cartridge carriage and the scanning unit. The printer will automatically start a print head cleaning cycle. When the cleaning cycle is complete, the printer is ready to use.
Solution 2:
  • Put the little green circuit board from the old ink cartridge of the same color in the new cartridge.

normally you will need to let the printer know that you have preformed any maintenance on it by clearing the error count after such an error occurs and is fixed it is normally listed under general or service options on the printer menu but you may need to look through the users manual

hope this helps

Getting "inner cover is open" message

The inner cover is a flap on the inside in front of the carriage when it is at rest when the cover us open. You had to flip the inner cover down to access the ink cartridges.
Open the cover. The inner cover is in the center and need to be flipped up.
Good luck.

Error message that inner cover is not closed when it is

hello, please turn off the printer and turn it on again. If this doesn't help, check that the inner cover is fully opened, and that nothing holds it. If the same problem persists, you should take it to a repair center.

  3. Try replacing the new one with the old ones. Do you get the same display?
  4. On the printer, is there an alignment button?

Good luck!

Just got a canon pixma mp970 printer and it keeps saying that the inner cover is open.

On my MP610, you have to look inside from the front of the printer to see the inner cover. It's a cover you have to open to install ink cartridges. It took me a while to figure it out on my printer too. They'd save a lot of headaches by putting a small identifying label on the inner cover.

Inner cover is open - what inner cover is that referring to

The inner cover is inside and just above where the paper comes out after you make a print or copy.  Reach in and flip the grey bar up to close.
