ITunes ''not responding'' using VISTA 64-bit

I have a brand new Dell Studio 15 laptop running Vista 64-bit. I have uninstalled and downloaded iTunes several times and every time I open it, all it does is ''respond'', ''not respond'' and you just have to kill it. My iTunes library is on a remote disk drive which works fine from my old laptop running XP.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Are you running itunes 64 bit? that would be your solution there. download the 64 bit version and it'll solve all your problems.

Itunes has two version for windows vista, may be you are using the incorrect version.

 

Check you windows version : right click in COMPUTER then click in PROPERTIES and see if you

have a Windows Vista 32 bits or Windows Vista 64 bits.

 

Go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

 

If you click on the big blue button, you are downloading the 32 bits version.

if you go down a little bit more, you can see in blue letters "64-bit installer".

 

Take the correct version and that's it.

Hi, you can check which version of Windows you have by clicking on the Start button (the Vista orb) and from the Start menu, right click on Computer. Choose Properties from the menu that appears, and you'll see a lot of information about your computer. There should be a line that says whether you have a 32-bit version of Vista or a 64-bit version. Depending on which version you have, you'll need to download the compatible version of iTunes. You can download both versions here:

For the 32-bit version, click the Download Now button; for the 64-bit version, scroll down to where you see the link for 64-bit installer on the left hand side and click it.

Software not responding

Uninstall the software by clicking on Windows logo Start menu> Programs > Lexmark Series folder> Tools> Uninstall. Restart pc. Check if your Vista is running on 32-bit or 64-bit operating system by clicking on the Windows logo Start menu> right click on Computer > Properties. I recommend you use the downloaded file. Download Driver for Microsoft Windows Vista. for 32-bit operating system or download Driver for Microsoft Windows Vista (x64) for 64-bit operating system. Hope this helps. Old Lexmark 1200 printer not working with new Dell Studio laptop

you need to go to the "lexmark.com website" and download the new "vista" driver, it was looking for XP, and they are two different programs, also you can go to "control panel", and Open scanners and Printers, and see if the vista "hardware wizard" picks it up, and installs it too, let me know if this helps, god bless......
