But don’t mix bar oil with gas obviously. Only what’s recommended by manufacturer

This is an electric chainsaw. I understood I didn’t have to mix with gas??

  • Joe Paxton Oct 22, 2018

There should be NO GASOLINE involved in any part of an ELECTRIC chainsaw. Use bar and chain oil only in the oil reservoir.

That’s what I though. Thank you for the info.

Electric chain saws can use only bar and chain lubrication oil in their systems.

Chamber is for bar oil. You should be mixing oil with gas for motor.

SOURCE: chainsaw wont oil the chain and bar it is a poulan 2000 woodsman

It's probably the oiler check valve located on the crankcase just in front of the clutch. You will probably need to remove the clutch and sprocket to get at it.

I have borrowed a chainsaw PWR1750CSA from a friend i need to know what oil goes in the tank, i presume it is to lubricate the chain.

The fuel tank takes a 25-1 fuel oil mix, the oil tank takes a non fling chain oil to lubricate the chain, if you you a light oil it will spray off the end of the bar and not lubricate the under side of the bar where most cutting is done, if you cannot get non fling oil use as thick an oil as you can get hold of.

I need to know which oil type goes into the oil chamber for the chain on a mac 3200 gas chainsaw, not the mixture...thanks

There really is no exact type of oil that goes into the chain and bar oiler. Each manufacturer usually makes their own, but any chain and bar oil will work. It is a thicker type of oil unlike a motor oil. Just ensure that the bottle says "bar and chain" oil

No problem; using a borrowed Husqvarna 44-don't know fuel mixtures (if any). The chamber for "oil"-is that engine oil (if so, what do you recommend) or chain saw oil (if not, is there another...

The mix fuel mix is 40:1. Use Husqvarna 2 stroke oil not the cheap stuff on sale at car service stations. The chamber for oil is for chain oil which can be bought at most places that sell or hire machinery like chainsaws, lawnmowers etc.

I am unsure of what kind of oil to put in my 12" chainsaw(electric)?

Well, if it's electric it doesn't need the 50:1 or 25:1 gasoline to oil ratio 2 cycle oil.

It needs bar chain oil , which is thick and lubricates the chain. Only this kind of oil is required for your chain saw.

Remember to adjust the tension on your chain.

What type of petrol and oil to use for a sabre 3350 chain saw

The best thing to do is see if your Mom has the operators manual. If not, the best thing I can do is guess. Most chainsaws are two cycle. This means that fuel and oil has to be mixed. There is a formula that you can find on line depending on what ratio is needed. The other chamber that says oil on it is the tank for the Bar Oil. That is the oil that lubricates the bar and chain as the machine is running. You should get some oil that is formulated just for bar lube. Do mix fuel and oil, do put in bar oil...Good luck...Lee

Need to know what kind of oil to put in ryobi chainsaw

If it is an electric chainsaw (not gas powered) then the only oil you need is chainsaw bar oil, which lubricates the chain and bar during use (self feeding system). This goes into the chamber at the top of the saw. You can buy chain/bar oil for chainsaws at any good hardware store or outdoor power equipment store. You can use any brand of chain bar oil, most are pretty good.

If it is a gas/petrol operated model, I will need to know the model number to advise on that.
