SOURCE: I can't get my pilot
Hello,
Most likely your flame sensor wiring is partially burn't or has an open
circuit fault that's giving you the error message. This wire starts at
the gas control and ends next to the pilot assembly. It can easily be
replaced using a small wrench to unscrew the end connector from the
control and the flame sensor rod at the pilot assembly. Call Rheem and
see if the water heater is still under warranty, but even if it isn't
they can most likely order the part you need for you. The phone # is on
one of the data decals on the side of the water heater tank. They will
need the model # and serial # to order the part.
Be sure you unplug the unit before working on it! Douglas

That error message appears when the speakers wires are disconnected or shorted. This is what almost surely happened with your radio: the the wires were undersized for the power, they got heated up really badly and the plastic insulation melted away, shorting the wires.
You will need to remove the radio, disconnect the speakers and redo the entire wiring to them using thicker wires.

When this message is flashed up, if VALID, it most often means to check the antenna connection as it maybe faulty, or the speaker wires are faulty? Sometimes it can also indicate that the "Backup Settings" wire isn't getting power?
However, I have also seen this message when the unit itself has faulted internally, and this is just an indication of a failure.
You still need to check ALL connection to the unit, to make sure all is OK. If as I suspect they are, then this will indicate that the unit has faulted internally, usually a power supply issue, but not always.
The best thing to do, would be to take the unit to a professional, in this field, and ask them for a "Quote"as to costings for a repair. When appraised of this then one can decide what to do, repair or replace.

The faulty wire was shorting on the ground. When that happened the current flowing thru the amplifier top which that wire was connected got severely overstressed. This is why the safety system was triggering. By reseting it you were just making the problem a lot worse - you were forcing the amplifier to run with its output shorted. So it was to be expected that it eventually failed - it severely overheated and it got shorted itself internally. Now it's the short in the amplifier the one that is triggering the error message. And because the short is on a critical part you can no longer reset it - the power source itself has shut down.
The radio will have to be dismantled and the failed final amplifier identified and replaced, a job for a pro - time to take it to an electronics repair shop.

I doubt it is something you can fix yourself--best bet is get a expert out before the issue gets worse or something that is good now gets damaged.
