Question about Casio Watches
The contact springs most likely have nothing to do with your screen being black.
The watch will have an "AC" or all clear function that needs to be performed. Check the back lid for AC or reset instructions. If there are no instructions there then you will have to visit a watch repairman/technician to have this procedure performed as it involves touching the AC pad on the circuit board to the back of the battery already installed. The circuit board is easily damaged if not performed properly.

Try opening this link below by copying and pasting it into a new address bar in a new window;
A new window should open with;
A new window will open asking for the 3 or 4 digit Module Number (which is located on the back of the watch)
Watch Manual Archives
Module No. Search
Type the 3 or 4 digit number in the box then click search;
When the next window opens click on the highlighted underlined Module Number and this should take you to a new window with the manual you need.
