Question about RCA Audio Players & Recorders

2 Answers

I have a Rca S2001 Jet Series Music player. I charged it using my computer. When attempting to turn it on, it would not. When connected to the wall on the charger it will work, but if not it wont.

When connected to the wall charger it will work, plugs up to a computer fine and charges. When connected to the wall, it plays songs and works perfectly. But it will not turn on if it is not plugged into the wall. I tried restarting my device, and even installed the newest firmware, but nothing is working. Does anyone know why it wont work if not on the charger? and, how to fix it? I searched around on a lot of different websites but nothing is working. ( i saw some suggestions on various topics to take the battery out, but i have the device taken apart and unsure of how to reach the battery. I don't believe that will solve the problem.) ((I also don't want to have to replace the battery, if at all possible.))

Do you use the same cable to charge your device on computer and wall socket? If not that might be your problem. It might show that it’s charging but actually there’s no power supplying to the battery. If it is the same cable try another USB socket your motherboard or driver could start causing problems so I would suggest to try the cable you use on the wall socket on another computer if possible.

SOURCE: My charger won't work so now my computer wont turn on

Unplug you ac adapter from the wall and plug a lamp in to verify that the wall plug is working correctly. Pick up the adapter to see if it feels warm. Most adapters will feel warmer than room temperature if they are working,
If the cords on your adapter can be unplugged from the adapter, reseat them. Try the ac adapter in another wall plug to see if it comes on. The adapter may have an LED on it that indicates whether or not it is on. If it doesn't, about the only way to check it is to use a multimeter to see if there is any voltage on the plug that goes into the back of the laptop. If something else will work in the original wall plug and the adapter won't work in another wall plug, you will need to obtain another ac adapter.
Once you've tried these things, let me know and we'll go from there.
Thanks!

SOURCE: Battery Dont Charge

jpierre's solution (in another thread) was right on the money. Touch the positive (+)end of the 9v battery to the positive (+) end of the camera battery.Leave them touching for a few seconds (10 seconds should be more thansufficient). Seems these lithium-ion batteries are subject to a'digital memory.' Subjecting it to a volt surge almost three timeshigher seems to clear it.

In short, it works like a charm.

Problem is I don't have the CD

Hello,
Overview support site for the RCA S2001 can be reached here:

Manual for the S2001;
http://www.voxxsupport.com/images/manuals/S2001/media/S2001_UMEN.pdf
The manual shows 3 ways how to perform transfers between the player and a computer.
  • In Windows Explorer
Exploring ''My Computer'' seeing the player as a removable disk, media
can be transferred like normally putting files to a external device. Always remember to safely remove hardware connection of the player before disconnecting the device.
  • Using Windows Media Player 11
The Media Player supported by Microsoft Windows. Run WMP11 to
see the player as a media device. Transfers to the player can be made
making playlists and synchronizing them to the S2001.
For updating WMP11 go to the original site:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/default.aspx
  • Using Yahoo! Music Jukebox
Music Jukebox of Yahoo! is also a software utility for transferring your music to the player. The Yahoo! Jukebox contains links for buying music to download (there is a free trial).
This software is difficult to download directly form the original site.
When still wanting to use it, get a download from e.g. next site:
http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,6152-order,1-page,1-c,alldownloads/description.html

When having problems with the player, there''s a firmware installation
download available.
Performing reinstallation of the firmware will delete all content from the player.

I have an RCA Audiovox s2001 sports mp3 player 1 gb and can't figure out how to delete songs that happened to be already downloaded onto the player before ..makes me wonder if my player is really new, but...

All support for RCA Jet S2001 on this site:
http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/product.aspx?product=124

When performing "Clear Mysel" in the Player Menu you will only
delete your playlist, songs added in "Add to Mysel" earlier.

For deleting files you'll have to make a connection with the computer using the transfer software from RCA, Windows Media Player 11 or the
delete method in Windows Explorer.
