Question about JVC Car Audio & Video

My battery was recently disconnected and now my JVC KD-X341 BT doesn't work any thoughts on what I can do?

See if it has a tiny reset pin hole on front and hold it in for a few secs

Check both the audio or radio fuse. Also there should be a fuse on the back of the radio itself

Check and make sure the ground cable is clean and tight on the battery.

The Touch will not work with the KDPDR30. I spoke with JVC and their models that will operate the Touch are KDPDR40, KDAPD49, KDPDR45, KDPDR41 and KDG47 the last two have a cable required.

no security code on this radio. try to unplug the power harness to reset the radio. that should take care of the problem

Reconnecting the battery causes a surge which can pop fuse. Generally there will be a fuse panel under the hood and underneath or on the side of a dash. There is also a fuse on the back of the stereo

Doesn't work is one way of telling the symptom. In detail, it can also be said " powers on, cannot change channel, etc..). That may help troubleshooting

The wire is for the purpose of controlling the brightness of the display. The wire probably goes to a 12 volt positive lead, but it may also go to a remote knob of some type. In that case if you hook it up to the lead it could cause damage to your unit. I would simply leave it disconnected and if you can read the stereo display okay then keep it that way. If you can't read the display then you might want to connect it to a FUSED 12 volt positive lead.

I have a JVC but lost the box and manual, but its a KD-G430. I had to recently Jump start my car and now it wont play CD's, and it comes up with a load of letters, usually ooooSAAoo, Just wondering if...

You may have to remove the unit and get the serial number from a sticker on it and contact JVC to get the code to reactivate it. You are one more victim of 'anti-theft' security. Dunno how many thieves this annoys but it sure POs a lot of owners. You may be required to prove legal ownership of the unit.
To prevent this from happening because of a necessary disconnection of the car battery, you can buy a small, inexpensive device that uses a 9V block battery and plugs into the cigarette lighter to avoid losing the computer data and the use of your stereo.
