SOURCE: how to thread sewing machine

Yes, but it is a good basic machine.
Here's how to thread it:
Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} all machines thread the same. TTN tension, take up, needle.
Beginning with the spool, guide the thread through the thread guides to the tension assembly. Pull the thread through the tension assembly and test it to make sure the tension is working correctly.
(To do this test, adjust your tension setting to normal or medium or 5 or something in the middle. Raise the presser foot and pull the thread through the tension. It should pull easily!! Lower the presser foot and pull the thread. It should pull noticeably harder.) If it passes this test, continue up through the take up lever, then down through the thread guides to the needle. Make sure your needle is fully inserted and turned the correct way.( If you load your bobbin case from the left side, the needle rule is normally FLAT to the RIGHT is RIGHT. There are some exceptions. If you have a newer style drop in bobbin or your bobbin case loads in the front then the rule is FLAT to the BACK.

SOURCE: My Necchi 4595 has never really worked

I also own 2 necchi sewing machines, my mechanical is a 4595,,
lower thread tension
to test the bobbin tension, remove the bobbin case & bobbin & hold it by suspending it byb the thread, **** it once or twice, if the tension is correct, the thread will unwind by about an inch or two.
if the tension is too tight, it does not unwind at all, if the tension is too loose, it will drop too much.
to adjust the tension,, left is loosen & to the right tighten

thread breaks
rethread the machine making sure to get all thread guides
top thread tension usually 3 or 4
replace needle- make sure the needle is inserted correctly
some needles don't work with some thread, here's a tip

Cut 6-8 inch piece of thread of the spool you are going to use for your project
Take the needle you are going to use for the project
& insert the thread thru the eye of the needle
& lift one end of the thread to a 45 degree angle
& if the needle is the right size for the thread it will slide down the thread
But if the needle hangs on the thread you need one size larger needle for the thread

What position is needle supposed to be in when you replace it. Is needle eye suppose to be facing you or is it to be threaded from the side?

Depends on your sewing machine. Most needle flat surfaces face the back of the machine so the eye is threaded from the front, but on some machines the flat surface faces toward the harp of the machine (so the thread is threaded through the eye from the left side).

FWIW, usually, if the bobbin loads from the front of the machine the needle's flat surface faces the back. If the bobbin loads from the left side, the needle's flat surfaces faces the harp.

If you install the bobbin, thread it, and it will not pick up the bobbin thread or create a stitch, then it is likely the needle is installed incorrectly. Also, installing the needle the wrong way could cause it to strike and break, so test it SLOWLY!

The ideal would be to consult the owner's manual. Search for:

or
Make Model threading

The automatic threader wont pick up and thread needle. Can do manually but thats not easy?

to make manual threading of a needle easy buy a needle threader
it is a instrument that has a very fine piece of wire in a loop that you push through the eye of the needle , put the thread in that loop and pull the loop back out of the eye and the needle is threaded
available from most any shop that sells material , cotton , thread or sewing machine shops
cost --pack of 2 for $1.00 or there abouts

There's nothing wrong with the Threader, it's just that the Threader doesn't reach the back of the Needle!

Usually you have to manually move the needle up and down until its height matches the threader height. Newer machines have an automatic needle stop that generally matches the threader but most older machines need to be manually manipulated.

HINT: If you do need to manually thread your needle, lick your index finger and then rub the back of the needle's eye. Your thread will literally "leap" through the eye! This works for hand-sewing needles too!

The tension knob will not turn below four. The thread keeps breaking.

check that the thread is between the plates and not behind them
thread breaking can be from wrong size needle eye, poor quality thread , old thread and needle/ eye timing

Model 230. Why is it losing the thread at the needle everytime I sew?

The thread sounds like it is not running freely so the upper tension is either too tight or blocked by lint.
If neither of these solutions work then try changing your needle as a blunt or wrong needle can also be a cause

My Bernina Deco 340 does not pick the bobbin thread but keeps saying the top thread is broken

Check the needle timing. Go to bernina on the web and download the service manual for your model. The eye of the needle should be at the pick arm of the bobbin case Too early or late and it will miss the cotton.

Threading rl-635 serger--wife is trying to tread this machine and the lower something or other doesn't work. Cannot find a manual, and the tape they sent with the machine is all messed up.

Sergers can be a bear! One miscue and - well you know. My old serger was threatened more than once.

Are the instructions for this model printed on the inside of the door or on the machine?

Note every guide and make sure none are missed.

Raise the thread antenna to it's highest position.

Raise the presser foot and turn the tensions to zero.

Start threading with the upper looper, making sure the loopers are not crossed.

The upper looper is the one that appears to be taking the thread toward the needles.

Make sure the threads do not cross as you then thread the lower looper (this one appears to be taking the thread away from the needles).

Lastly - thread the needles; right needle first.

Take the ends of the thread under the presser foot and toward the left side of the presser foot.

Lower the presser foot and set the tensions back to 3 - 6.

Stitch a chain of thread before stitching fabric.

If this works, and I sincerely hope it does, never let the serger run out of thread.

Snip the thread near the cone and tie off snugly with the new thread.

Lift the presser foot and open the tensions and stitch or gently pull the thread toward the back of the serger. The knots should clear all but the eye of the needles - stop, cut before the knot reaches the eyes

Not creating a complete stitch

The needle may be threaded from the wrong side. Newer models thread from front to back of the machine, older models will thread from right to left, It is usually determined by the positions of the needle eye. rethread the top, if this does not correct the problem thne rethread the bobbin, use the instr manual to make sure it is correct.

I've lost my manual and video need threading info

One of the most common mistakes with overlockers is that the threads must always be threaded in order. So if you sew about 1 inch and the thread breaks try unthreading the eyes of the needles rethread the looper and then rethread the eyes of thew needles. If not you will get the same result of sewing about 1 inch and it will break again.
