SOURCE: Fridge timer location
THREE DIFFERENT LOCATIONS FOR DEFROST TIMERS ON
1 BEHIND THE REFRIGERATOR IN THE COMPRESSOR COMPARTMENT.
2 BEHIND THE TOE PLATE LOCATED ON THE FRONT BOTTOM OF THE REFRIGERATOR.
3 IN THE FRESH FOOD SECTION WITH THE CONTROLS
ON SOME NEWER ELECTRONIC MODELS, THE DEFROST IS
PART OF THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL LOCATED BEHIND A PANEL ON THE BACK OF THE UNIT.

You need to remove the clog in the drain line from the freezer to the condenser, Look under the fridge for the plastic drain line and blow it out or otherwise clear it, Then insure that the unit is level. Sooner or later you need to clean the freezer drain pan. After using up your frozen food, remove the back panels of the freezer and clean the area well.

It won't be the defrost timer, unusual, it will be the defrost element inside the freezer section behind the back panel or a shorted defrost klixon.
