Step 2
Roll the middle dial until the appropriate number lines up with the number to its left. Do the same for the right-most number. Your three-digit combination should now show, left to right, lined up with the scored hash marks.

Pull the body of the lock and the U-shaped ring away from each other to put pressure on the mechanism inside the lock. Keep holding a firm, steady pressure.

Step 2
Roll the dial closest to the U-shaped ring slowly, while keeping steady pressure on the mechanism. The dial will get difficult to roll over three consecutive numbers, and one of those numbers will click. You should feel and hear this small click, and that is the first number to your combination.

Step 4
Roll the dials until you have your new combination.
Resetting Your Combination
Step 5
Turn the hook 90 degrees clockwise and raise the stem out of the body of the lock. Turn it another 90 degrees clockwise and push it back into the locked position. The lock now uses your new combination.

I just unlocked a 1534 4-digit lock I couldn't open for 2 years. I found the info online. Use a flat blade to spread the wheels apart slightly and look for the red mark on each wheel. There were only three metal tabs on each wheel on mine so if this is the same on yours and you can't find the tab with the red mark, worst case senario would be to record each number shown at the mark when one of the tabs is lined up. It will take 3^x turns max to find the combination without locating the red marks. For 4 wheels, that is 3x3x3x3 or 81 possible combinations. For 5 wheels, it would be 3x3x3x3x3 or 243 possible combinations.
If you can find all but one red mark, line them up with the mark on the lock and go through all digits on the one you couldn't find. Shouldn't take too long. I tried to unlock mine by brute force (every possible combination of 10000 choices) and ran out of steam less than half-way through. That was with only 4 wheels and 10 digits each.
Your later generation Apple iPod can be locked to protect your personal data from anyone else's eyes. There are a variety of ways to unlock it depending on your access to the combination, the primary computer linked with the iPod, or neither. Difficulty: Easy Instructions
Unlock with the Combination
Remember the 4-digit combination you used to set the screen lock.
Enter the exact combination. If the combination is correct, the iPod unlocks and displays the screen you were on before you locked it.
The numbers on the screen flash red if you enter the code incorrectly. Unlock with the Primary Computer
Plug the iPod into the primary computer linked to that iPod, the first computer you synchronized it with unless you have designated another computer as the primary computer.
Open iTunes and sync the iPod as normal.
Remove the iPod, following the normal removal procedure. The iPod unlocks automatically as you remove it. Unlock by Restoring
Restore the iPod to factory settings if you do not have access to your primary computer. This erases all of the data you have stored on the iPod.
Plug your iPod into the new computer you want to be the primary computer. Open iTunes and click on the "Restore" button.
Reload your data, if it is available and sync your iPod. Remove it following normal procedures.
Check the MasterLock web site to see if they still offer to provide for forgotten combinations. Some years ago I got a combination for a standard rotary dial lock by providing the usual identification information plus a photo of the lock showing its serial number.
