Question about Kenmore Washing Machines

Hi, I have a Kenmore Elite top loader washing machine. It wont start the washing cycle. Code F5 flashes on the digital panel. The model # is 11031632611.please advise!

I am a recently retired appliance engineer of 20 years start with checking the other solenoid, the conditioner one, it may be that that is not working, and double check the cold one, remove the two wires and check for a circuit, it may be actually filing up initially with hot water without realising it, always work with safety remove the plug before removing panels etc if i have helped rate me please

to unlock the controls
select and hold drain/spin for 3 seconds until the control locked status lights turn off.

SOURCE: F2 error code on my Kenmore Elite HE3 washer

Had this problem on our Kenmore machine.

This is what done.

1. Unplug the washer

2. Take of the toe panel in the front by removing the three screws.

3. Get a bunch of towels (I mean a bunch!!!)

4. The pump is in the center, and it has a plastic grip handle that one can unscrew to remove the filter. As you unscrew it, LOTS of water will come out. Be ready with the towels. A cookie sheet helps to collect the water too.

5. Clean the filter assembly.

6. If one wishes to check the inlet of the pump, remove the back panel, about 12 screws. (Note, the following works for replace the pump as well)

7. Remove the large bellow from the bottom of the tub that goets to inlet of the pump by removing the clamp

9. Lift up on the plastic cover that covers the wires that power the pump. There may be a small plastic catch that is lifted up as to allow the connector to become free.

8. Remove the Torx screw that holds that is the center just under the filter screen.

9. Pull the pump forward.

10. Unclamp the pump outlet hose.

11. Remove pump

12. Unclamp the large bellow on the pumps inlet and inspect for debris.

13. Clean pump and fitler w/o getting water on the pump.

14. Install in reverse order. Remember, it is much easire to put the inlet bellow and outlet hose on the pump before you put into the washer

f35 code indicates a pressure switch problem. Try unplugging unit for 2 minutes.Plug back in and test.If F35 reappears,check hose from tub to pressure switch

Kenmore elite HE31 front loader will not start but has power

This seems to be a problem in the start switch diode. If all works fine, but will not push and start and all cycles seem to work when working it manually, this is in the switch timer electronic diode is not working properly. Sometimes a code will not come up, because cycles are still working when manually changing wash cycles. There is seperate switch or electronic trigger that starts the machine, and has probably worn out or not making good contact. If you can unplug machine and then take off panel, trying spraying behind start switch with electronic cleaner to free up any possible dust or dirt. Might get lucky.

Thanks for using FixYa. Error oL means overloaded and it flashes when the machine/motor control detects a load size that exceeds the washer’s capacity. To clear this error you’ll have to open the door lid to clear display, remove excess laundry, then restart the cycle. Why is my kenmore elite (top loader) oasis washer HE is displaying a code of HC

The water inlet hoses are probably removed and reconnected in reverse, and then trigger the HC error code to flash indicating the hot and cold water inlet hoses are reversed. Reconnect the water inlet hoses properly and start a cycle then let us know what happens next.

I have a kenmore elite top loader and it starts the cycle but like two minutes into the cycle it stops and shows a flashing f this happened about two months ago and the guy said that it was two wires on...

Hi there,

Well the error code indicates a problem with the door latch assembly. Do you hear any clicking sound? If it fails to latch, the wash cycle will not start and the error code and audible beep will occur. There should be a tech sheet inside the washer. It's usually located behind the bottom panel under the door, or along the inside of the casing on either the left or right hand side. The tech sheet will have a list of error codes, procedures on how to perform diagnostics...... remove the top panel and with the two screws out of the door switch assy you will reach down and pull it up and swap the wire plugs and re-install it..... the price is aprox. $50.... Please post comments for more help or information.........

Kenmore Elite top loader. Machine stops part way through the wash cycle and F1 shows in time remaining window, also cycle selector knob lights flash.

I remember correctly, F1 means the main board is bad.

Kenmore Elite won't start

The control panel (touch panel) is faulty - and must be replaced.

Moister can get in between the contacts,is it in a high moister environment? Try using a hair dryer on the panel to dry it out.Also unplug it to reset.
