Turn control to off. Remove the batteries for at least one hour. If the display message still reads "bat lo", leave control off, batteries out, and disconnect the red wire on back and wait another hour. Reconnect red wire, put new batteries in and turn system on. It's like a reboot.

SOURCE: nimh batteries give low batt signal even when

the trouble with rechargable batteries is their voltage is low to start with even when charged. they only give 1.2 volts each instead of 1.5 volts from proper AA bateries. I use Energizer Lithiums in all my camers and they are great and last a long time. You can find cheap suppliers on eBay I use a site called 7dayshop.com in jersey (europe).

SOURCE: Our Honeywell programmable thermostat T8132A 1049

The T8132A thermstat requires 2 AA alkaline batteries for operation as the T8131 uses the 24VAC souce transformer with battery back up. If new batteries did not fix the problem follow product user manual to reset and program the thermostat. This should clear any errors or problems. If the problem persists then replace the thermostat. If you do not feel confident you can accomplish the task then you should call a licensed HVAC technician to troubleshoot the issue as the wrong settings could potentially cause permanent damage to your system.

Home Thermostat reads low batt

I have ran into this problem before. I have actually had low batteries I thought were good too ha! I have had to actually reset the stat to get the low battery to stop flashing. There are multiple ways to reset the thermostats, depending on model, but removing the batteries and waiting has worked, along with actually having a reset button somewhere on the stat. Hope this helps!
