Question about Home
I think the answerers so far have missed the question. I have the same issue. I just installed a new Kohler 747 ant it works fine EXCEPT there is no water coming out of the white nipple/black tube, to refill the bowl. Is there some kind of internal setting to allow or not allow bowl fill tube? There is on some a reducing roller pinch valve to tame how much goes to the bowl, but zero does not work for me.

There should be a small flexible tube/hose that came with this and goes over where the water is spraying out, it should look like a little nipple, the hose goes on there and then to the white tube appoximately an inch or so in diameter that goes to the bottom of the tank where the flapper ball is connected. The small flexible tube is supposed to connect to the top of the larger tube via a clip so-as to fill the toilet bowl back with water. If everything is connected like it's supposed to be then you might have a cracked fluidmaster.

Hi tdechill...
Make sure the hose that goes to the top/side of the fluidmaster is in the overflow tube of the water tank, if it is then It should not spray water from the top, it is faulty and needs to be replaced.
Please take time to rate me

Twist the Blue top cap counter clockwise. This will remove the top. Inside, you will find a white round rubber piece that has most likely become dirty and stiff. Push the round upper cap up and down with your thumb in the middle of the top rounded part of this piece. Once the piece seems softer and more flexible, if you have already cleaned it, place it back into the top of the fixture with the smaller round end down. Place the cap back on, rotate it clockwise until it clicks in secure. At that point, it should work fine and the water squirting out of the top should be stopped or reduced significantly so that you can continue to use the toilet.
