I have a Kirby Vacuum, Model - Avalir Z and need to get a new owners manual as I have misplaced mine. Model # is 3180202642 and was just purchased in May.

You either have a clog, a damaged fan, orsomething is wrong with the motor ( not as likely ) . Best thing to do is take it to your local vac shop for assessment.

It sounds Kirby has a new model with a new type of switch go back to the shop you bought it , if you have not read the manual , a tip , 1 look how the dustbag is connected it must be good connected if not the problem is there , second the hose the hose must be connected good because if not the problem is there more options are not there for the master switch . if its controlled that the switches are god pushed in by mechanic parts of the dustbag connector or hose connector , it must run and stay on power the dustbag is the one that is the most probable connection what maybe not enough is turned to the motor housing have a stabil working on -off switch. if it not does made difference go immediatly back to the shop. with proof of purchase, you get an other new one if its a factory failure. or the powercable was accidentially bruised between a door or linger behind the powerplug and that why its faltering maybe.

You were misinformed. When buying a new machine, whether vacuum, refrigerator, or car, always read the warranty before purchasing. It's generally found in the owner's manual. No additional guarantee made by the seller is valid. The salesman may have misunderstood based on what he had been taught up to the point, or just saying what his boss told him to. This is a common occurrence with Kirby.
The guarantee is that if you send it to the company, it will be totally refurbished so it's like new. Of course, you have to pay for this, but not as much as a new Kirby would cost.
The actual guarantee/warranty can be seen by clicking on the link below. It's generally three years, and doesn't cover normal wear and tear.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The best place to get a owner’s manual is from the Kirby Factory that I will listed below, they should have all the owner’s manuals from al the Kirby’s. Make sure that you include the Kirby Model # and serial # if needed.
