Trying to set my universal remote to the panasonic dvd home theater sound system SA-HT75

Depends on the particular dish remote you have. There have been several different remotes from dish. They have a very large remote database on the dish website you probably will only get basic functions like power on/off and maybe volume up/down.

The laser has failed. They all go this way. Throw it away and don't buy Panasonic next time.

It sounds like the laser that reads the disc has gone bad. Depending on how much you paid for it new, you might be better off just buying a new player
