My headphones work but not my mic i have a hs 2900 and i tried everything its a plug in mic on the left side of my headset i tried some other mics but they dont work either or some are really staticy

I for 1 don't know. But try to go to www.Turtle Beach.com they can help you out. I have Turtle Beach Ear Force XC1 and my mic I can talk but I can't hear anything but if your mic isn't working properly try using a different controller. If that doesn't help try getting a brand new mic.

First, excuse my answer/question, but you are plugging mike and phones into correct ports?
I once cursed my headphones & software only to realize that I had foolishly plugged phones into the MIC jack!! :rolleyes:
I haven't seen the jack-plugs on your model, but are they separate, stereo 3-way jack for 'phones and mono 2-way jack for mike?
I'm thinking of a 4-way all-in-one phones/mic jack not matching with stereo 3-way output socket of sound-card.
Working from tip at end of jack-plug,
Mic: Tip=mono signal out, Sleeve=GND
Stereo Phones: Tip=Left in, Ring=Right in, Sleeve=Common GND
Multi: Tip=Left, Ring1=Right, Ring2=Com GND, Sleeve=Mic sig.

replace your mic

Check your Volume Control and make sure the mic is enabled.

just interchange the plugs behind your cpu it must work. and got to controll panell sound devices, advance options click options, properties then change to recording if ur mic vol is mute then uncheck it.

i have a GE 98980 headset and window vista wont reconize the mic but the headphones work fine. How do i get the mic to work?

Common problem with this headset.

In short, the wiring for the mic in the left earpiece is quite shoddy, and over time will be worn away by changing the mic position or come loose with minimal effort.

Have had a over a dozen of these fail in our internet cafe due to this issue after a couple of months use.

Try changing the Windows Default Audio devices

1. Go to control Panel
2. Sounds and audio devices
3. The Audio tab
4. Then change the Sound Recording Device to Logitech Headphone INPUT

I had the same problem... with my laptop, using vista. I plugged the mic dirrectly into my laptop and for some miracle, it works! try it out! ^-^

same thing happened to me, it wouldn't even work when i went to control panel -> audio devices -> mic test   i think i'm just going to return it for a different model.

headphones worked well though
