I bought a fuel pump assembly for a 2005 ford taurus se 3.OL 2 fuel line clip came with it one is color black and the other one is color white do it make any differant where each one go? both look the same size.

Brush all debris away and use a brush with some gas to clean any grease around the fitting point. You can use a proprietary cleaner, but if you want the cheap method, drop the tank, put a hose into the tank and run hot water in. Spray detergent in while it's running and swill it around. Empty and repeat. Once you're getting clean water out, you must dry the tank completely - drain what you can, then use a lint free cloth anywhere you can reach. After that just have warm air to dry (I've known people use a hairdryer but if you do that only use a warm setting not hot!) Finally swill some clean gas around and drain which should remove the last dampness.
Remember to ensure that nothing drops into or gets left in the tank ;)

there is normally one on the pickup tube that the pump attaches to as there is a filter after the pump
