Make certain that the outlet has power . If so you can check the fuse inside the microwave. I do not know your skill level. My suggestion if it's anything more get a new one. You can get new fuses online and at electronic supply stores.

Check the outlet first , make sure there is power. If so check the fuse . Take the cover off and look. If you can find the fuse , use an ohm meter check the fuse for continuity. If that sounds like another language, read the fuse and buy the same thing. It's rated in volts and amps . So for example 8 amps at 120v . Replace it and see what happens. They are not expensive. Electronic supply stores are a good place . Good luck

SOURCE: Magic Chef 1.0 cu. ft. Convection Microwave Oven

There are several things that could cause a microwave not to heat. Most common is the magnatron and some models have up to a 5 yr warranty on that part. Check the owners manual for that info.

SOURCE: microwave

im not sure what a magic chef bulb is but you can check by opening the casing, the bulb is normally mounted on a fiber board and screwed on the metal part of the microwave, remove the two wires attached to it first, after unscrewing the screw, you can pull out the bulb holder and you can see if it is a replaceable bulb if it has a socket. you can use the old bulb holder , just replace the bulb. in some design, the bulb is mounted directly to the bulb holder, you have to buy the bulb mounted directly to a new bulb holder and use them all as an assembly. be sure to screw them back tight. tnx. i hope i was able to help.

SOURCE: vent fan high comes on automatically with cooking

Right, that would be MCO10UW and the owner's manual is here.

The owner's manual does say this, of course,

"To prevent overheating from taking place, the exhaust
fan is designed to automatically turn on at a low speed if
excessive temperatures occur. Should this happen, the
fan cannot be manually turned off, but it will
automatically turn off when the internal parts have
cooled. The fan may stay on for up to an hour after the
range and microwave oven controls have been turned
off."

That;'s standard on microwaves.

But these models do have a separate internal cooling fan (which should run any time you microwave) plus the hood vent exhaust fan, which should only run when you select it, or if there is an excessive stovetop or under-hood temperature.

So if it comes on whenever you microwave, that is incorrect.

When that happens, it's usually a defective vent thermal switch (a.k.a. hood TCO).

But since it's brand new, I would certainly contact Magic Chef about this. If it's in need of repair, they will fix it free, assuming the oven wasn't physically damaged.

It ispossible that the secondary transformer has failed which is the feed of the voltage for the processor timer/clock unit. So check this out with a multimeter and you can get to buy the transformer as it is a step down low voltage type., normally mounted on the processor board.
Check also if the fuse has blown if so replace.
I dont think there could be any further damage.
Credit me if this helps.

Operation manual is lost, how do I set the clock?

The manual for the Magic Chef MCD1311ST Microwave can be downloaded in pdf format from the following site (follow the link then click the "Manuals" tab):
http://www.mcappliance.com/mwodetailpage.aspx?ModelName=MCD1311ST

If you don't have time to download, here's what the instructions state:

SETTING THE CLOCK
When the oven is first plugged in, the display will flash ":0" and a tone will sound. If the AC power ever goes off, the display shows ":0" when the power comes back on.

1. Touch CLOCK pad.
This is a 12 hour clock system.

2. Touch CLOCK pad once more.
This is a 24hour clock system.
NOTE: This oven has multiple clock system. If you want 12 hour clock system, omit this step.

3. Enter the correct time of day by touching the numbers in sequence.

4. Touch CLOCK pad.
The display stops blinking, and the colon start blinking. If you selected 12 hour clock system, this digital clock allows you to set from 1:00 to 12:59. If you selected 24 hour clock system, this digital clock allows you to set from 0:00 to 23:59.

5. Touch STOP/CLEAR pad.

NOTE: If you attempt to enter an incorrect time, the time will not be set and a error signal tone will sound. Touch the CLOCK pad and re-enter the time.

Setting clock

It depends on the brand and model.

Normally it's a sequence like:

CLOCK > 1 > 2 > 3 > CLOCK

CLOCK > 1 > 2 > 3 > START

CLOCK > CLEAR > 1 > 2 > 3 > CLOCK

CLOCK > CLEAR > 1 > 2 > 3 > START

If not, please post a new inquiry with your correct brand and model.
