Question about Sanyo Microwave Ovens
I have this model and the owneral's manual. What if any question do you still have that I might have the answer to?

There are some times when it is ok to use metallic stuff in a
microwave. This is probably one of them. But you won't get
the manufacturer to agree. Metal concentrates the microwave
energy making a strong enough local electric field to cause sparks and
heat. Usually burns that spot. Do you have one of those
popcorn cookers for microwaves? Works by heating a special pad in
the bottom just right.
What the manufacturer is saying in the warning is:
Don't sue us if you use metal in this oven and something goes wrong.

it stops after 22 seconds, that means the controller has detected a
problem, usually a problem with the inverter or a bad magnetron.
Due to the lethal voltages used and produced, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.
I would recommend that you contact your nearest Panasonic-authorized servicer.

It's a 1988 vintage oven/microwave so I can't complain but it 's a pain if
I have to replace the unit

The service manual is
here and the parts
list is here.
You can order Dacor parts by part number from the Pros here.
If it's a problem with the controller / display, you can get that repaired for $39.95 in most cases (details here) or order a control / display unit here.
