SOURCE: Harman Kardon go + play problem

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

Initially, pls try cleaning the battery terminals. In some instances, it may be necessary to scrape them to remove corrosion. Still there are times they may have to be bent or stretched to ensure that they provide more pressure to the batteries. Alternately, pls try to confirm that the AC adapter is working by checking for the presence of voltage on the plug/connector with the use of a voltmeter.

Should the above not address your concern, then it is most likely that the problem is internal electronics and the unit is simply going into protective mode. You then have a choice of performing a DIY (do-it-yourself) or seeking the services of a qualified professional.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

SOURCE: taking apart harman/kardon subwoofer

turn the sub upsidedown, carefully remove the clear rubber feet (these are a dome fitted over a mushroom top), using the toothed gripper cutout of a pair of pliers (when closed it is the eye shaped opening visible on one side), grip the mushroom firmly but not so hard as to crush the mushroom and gently ease clockwise and anticlockwise (the mushroom is at one end of a clear plug blocking access to the four screws that hold the two parts together.
Be carefull to use the correct size screwdriver so as not to damage the screw heads as they are tight.
On reassembly, you may need to use glue to replace the rubber feet if the mushroom becames damages during removal.

SOURCE: can I conect harman Kardon avr 230 to apple tv

Yes, although it (AVR) does not support HDMI only component video.

Connect the audio to the receiver and the video directly to the TV if you have inadequate video inputs, or want to take advantage of the HDMI.

SOURCE: AirPlay won't connect to harman kardon receiver

My iPhone has a button at the bottom right-hand side of the screen (next to the volume control), that gives me the option to listen on the phone or to have it run on the Harman Kardon airplay. It automatically turned on the receiver and played the sound of the video in surround sound. It looks like a rectangle with a triangle at the bottom of it.

Harman Kardon HKTS-18 subwoofer makes a max boom sound approximately every 0.5 or 1 second. Any ideas?

It sounds like the subwoofer may be experiencing a problem with its power supply or amplifier. The "boom" sound you are hearing could be caused by a fluctuation in the voltage or current going to the subwoofer. I would recommend checking the power supply and amplifier to make sure they are functioning properly. Additionally, you may want to check the subwoofer's settings and ensure that the crossover frequency is properly set. If the issue persists, it may be best to contact Harman Kardon customer support for further assistance.

Why doesn't subwoofer work?

Your nose and eyes should lead you to the faulty part for this, once you get inside the subwoofer. Anything that burns up producing the smell will possibly leave a visual trace. But your nose will lead to the part that smells. Replace it and see what happens!

WHY is my harman kardon HKTS 15 subwoofwer is making a booming sound

Disconnect the cable and check the impedance/ohms with a meter. If rated at 4 ohms then it should read near that value. For 8 ohms also the reading should be near that value. You can buy a cheap Volt ohm meter for under ten dollars. After taking the ohm reading,it will be easier to diagnose................

My MacBook's audio still on even when harman Kardon speakers are connected to the computer.(Original version with USC connectors).

As I seem to recall the very first version was powered by the computer and as such may not be compatible with your Mac. I may be thinking of Apple's Clear speakers though? Do your HK Soundsticks have a power adapter or AC cord?

Do i need a satellite cord for this harman kardon to work properly

You shouldnt need a satellite cord. If the HK 12 has parallel L and R inputs and outputs, you should be able to run sound into the sub, and then out to whatever speakers you have. Assuming they are not a part of a sound system, and you are running 2.1 stereo.
