For most of the Panasonic DP-8000 series multi-function printers, a J42 error indicates a paper jam in the paper exit/fuser area. I hope this helps. If the error persists, there may be a damaged sensor inside the printer. That is not something I can't help you solve.

Press the following keys:

MENU, #, 9000, *, 655 code comes back replace the fuser unit

Turn your machine on.Open menu and press #9000# and then press 550 followed by START. Then turn off your machine!
