Either the printhead is bad, or the purge assembly is not cleaning properly. The printhead is QY6-0061-000 around $50.00. The purge assembly is less but has to be replaced in a shop.

Why does my printer only print half of a page?

Let's start by trying this:
Unplug the printer power cord from the printer and the wall.
Turn off the PC.
Disconnect the USB cable from both ends.
Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Now, can you print a self-test page from the printer?
Make sure there is unused, plain white paper loaded in the input tray.
On the product control panel, press and hold the Power button and the Cancel (X) button at the same time.
Release both buttons. The diagnostic page prints.
If that does not work, are there any blinking lights on the printer? This document might explain them: Blinking lights.
If the self-test page does print normally, reconnect the USB cable, turn the PC back on and try to print a Windows test page:
Click the Windows icon and then click Control Panel . The Control Panel opens in a new window.
Click Hardware and Sounds .
Click Printers . The Printers folder opens.
Right-click the printer icon in the Printers folder.
Click Properties . The printer Properties window opens.
In the General tab, click Print Test Page . The Windows Printer Test Page prints.
If you have problems printing from Windows, you can try some of the troubleshooting steps in this document:
Printer Prints Blank Paper.
Finally, you may have to uninstall and reinstall the print driver.

Spooling error

What make and model printer ?
There are a variety of reasons why a printer may feed a blank page through. This is, in some cases, an error. In other cases though it is a mistake in the page count or a simple matter of the printer trying to maintain itself.
Maintenance If a user has just loaded new paper into the printer or if an error message has recently been cleared the printer may run a blank page through.
Usually this is to make sure that the print path is now clear and that the next sheet it positioned correctly for printing.
Page Count
When a document is edited there is sometimes a blank sheet left at the end of the document. So, for example, if a 10 page document is edited down to nine pages, the computer and printer still sometimes read it as a 10-page document when a user hits the print key.
Page Separator
In some cases where a large number of documents are being printed, users may set a blank page separator.
This puts a blank page between copies of a document to show where one ends and the next begins.
A quick look at the printer's settings or control panel will tell you if this option has been turned on.
Fix a Printer Spool Error
When you send a job to your local or network printer, the print spooler is what keeps track of that job's location in the queue.
If the print spooler is not running, your job will not be able to reach the printer, so it is important to know how to resolve print spooler errors when they occur.

Click on the "Start" button and choose "Control Panel" from the menu.
Double-click the "Printers and Faxes" icon and locate your printer.
Double-click on the printer to get the list of jobs in the queue.
If you see any jobs in an error status, right-click on those jobs and choose "Cancel" from the menu.

Close the "Printers and Faxes" window and double-click on the "Administrative Tools" icon. Choose "Services" from the menu.
Scroll through the list until you see "Print Spooler," then right-click and choose "Start" from the drop-down list.
This restarts your print spooler and allow your jobs to print.
Right-click on "Print Spooler" again and choose "Properties" from the menu.
Go to the "Startup" option and set it to "Automatic."
This ensures that the print spooler starts each time your computer does.

I lost the disk to install my cannon pixma mp830 all in one printer and when i connect it to the computer i am currently using and try to print all the pages print out small at the top right corner. where...

Drivers for your printer and operating system can be downloaded here:

http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp830#DriversAndSoftware

Sounds like something has altered your Printing Preferences rather than a problem with the printer. For Windows 7, go to the Start Menu, open Device and Printers, right click on your printer icon and choose Printer Preferences, got to Features and check the setting Resizing Options; should be set to Letter.

If you need a Guide or manual for your printer it is available here.

Trust this is helpful. Please vote. :)

Cannon MP460 will feed paper through printer but not print

Check your printer sharing in the system preferences... make sure it's on.. then when you get the print window, look for your printer under shared printers... try it that way... worked for me on my wifi network here.

Can't print to my Canon

Lett click on the START tab in the lower LH corner of your WINDOWS home screen. Left click on CONTROL PANEL, then left click on PRINTERS. Find the icon of your printer on the PRINTERS page and right click it. On the drop-down menu, make sure PAUSE PRINTING does not have a check mark next to it. Next, lleft click on PROPERTIES. . On the PROPERTIES screen, left click on PRINT TEST PAGE BUTTON. If it does not print, note any errors and try to correct them. You can also delete the driver and try loading a new driver from www.usa.canon.com.Left click on DOWNLOADS. Then, just follow the onscreen instructions for downloading and setting up the new driver, and your printer should then work.
