Moved you out of computers it is not.

well it can only be the parts inside, board and tach.
kenwood has no schematics, ask them yet, only they have them if ever. most do not.
its a throw away consumer device.
buy the cheapest part on ebay, replace it , if fail move to part 2.
and so on. lacking schematic and my nice scope very hard.

Here is where you can download the repair manual. Read the section on speed control adjustments and repair. This might not be difficult for someone who is mechanixcally and electrically knowledgible.

SOURCE: need main wiring schematic for 2000 ultra classic

Looking at the plugs on the meter side of the harness: for the speedometer there is a three position plug. Pin #1 is Orange, Pin #2 is White/Green and Pin #3 is Black. for the Tachometer there is a six position plug, Pin #1 is Orange, Pin #2 is Pink, Pin #3 is Black/Yellow, Pin #4 is Green/Red, Pin #5 is Yellow/Red, Pin #6 is Black

More in likely the switch has over heated and is failing, needs to be replaced, if it can be? Or it just needs to be cleaned with Non conductive electronics contact cleaner...

Won't start;

A possibility that the micro switch inside which is actuated when you put the top on......the one you are tooth picking....has become dislodged, or the grooves that the switch hold it in place have broken off. Is there anything rattling inside the mixer which would suggest that a piece of the casing has broken off. If you can disassemble it to this point where you can see the switch and there is damage around that area which makes the switch loose, you could use some hot glue to hold it firmly in place. Let the hot glue set solid before you use it.....especially as the switch completes an electrical circuit and hot glue in its liquid form s conductive! Always remember to remove the electrical connection before opening the unit. Failing this, it could possibly be that the switch needs replacing which is a far easier job. Switches are pretty comparable regardless of what brand mixer. Sometimes held in with a screw on opposing corners. So even eBay would probably have one. Good luck. On the bright side, your solution works, but on the dark side, using a plug socket to switch a unit off and on is tricky! Saranden.

replace the switch the contact maybe totally worn out or maybe the the switch button cannot hits by the plunger.

if their a 3 point screw head, find an avaiation tool supplier

Operating switch

You could try a shot of contact cleaner inside the guts of the switch. Perhaps over time some sticky residue has built up causing the switch to become frozen. Unplug the unit, spray inside the guts of the switch, work the switch back and forth. repeat unit the switch loosens up. BE SURE to use a contact cleaner that won"t damage plastics, will say on label!

Broken Switch on West Bend High Performance food processor

We had this problem to but we were able to assemble with the help of a rubber band that held the switch on until the lid was locked in. Then you could use it the same way...pushing the rubber band down to engage the switch. I need to add though that since using this option...for nearly three months, The switch housing broke as well. I am now on the search for something to replace it I guess.

The bowl will not unlock

with that type of bowl on closing the lid the switch open and on opening the switch close.the switch will not unlock because the switch itself is sticking or defected try cleaning the switch with some contact cleaner.if that does not work then you will have to take it to a small appliance tech for repairs.if there is no appliance tech i a sorry to tell you but you will have to settle for a new one.good luck.
