Back your car up to a light wall or garage door and wait until dark to test your lights. You should see the lights on the wall or door. Turn on your lights. They should show on the wall or door. Touch the brakes, they too should show up on the wall. Ditto with your turn signals and emergency flashers.

My Toyota RAV4 2004 wagon when I put on handbrake position parking but still moving reverse( to back)

cant read the FSM, (factory service manual or log into alldata.com
and read all this, not have use , do all this the hard way?

ok hard way, just for you,
x2 , as brakes wear the handle can go wrong (emg. brake).
but, dont mess with that yet that is last , or not at all.
why?
did you service the rear brakes first. by the book
the FSM book and read the words on EMG, brake there.
how to test it and make sure its right?

here ill qoute the FSM just so you can see facts and truth.
1st things go 1st.

  1. Make sure the brake shoes are properly adjusted first.
  2. Pull the parking brake up using a normal amount of force and count the number of clicks. It should be between 6 and 8.
  3. If not, remove the rear console box to access the parking brake adjuster.
  4. Loosen the locknut and turn the adjusting nut until the travel is correct.
  5. Tighten the lock nut and reinstall the rear console box.

the cars have both disk and drum brakes. on rear.
the disc setup has a top hat rear shoe setup. like mine.
the rotor stops car , with foot brake
the here, inside it the top hat brake (drum)
(put rotor on your head it looks like a top hat) thus the name.
replace the shoes if bad.or just adjust them. per below
I BET now the hand brake work like new. and no mess with 1-5 above. (99% of time)

How to wear a hard hat properly

With so many different brand of hard hats there are all kinds of rules and for how a hard hat is meant to be worn. Never fear there are a few points that they all agree on and these are the ones that you should always keep in mind when you head off to work.

First you want to make sure that the suspension straps on the inside of the hat fit properly. You can adjust them by moving the pin to different holes much like you do to change a belt. The plastic of the hat isn't supposed to sit on your head like a regular hat. There has to be space between your head and the hat to help 'cusion' the impact of something hitting your head.

The ******** the back of the hat, one that sticks out lower should be tight on the nape of your neck. This strap helps in keeping the hat in place.

If your hard hat has a chin strap make sure that you have it adjusted properly because this will keep your hat on your head when bending over or looking up. The chin stap should sit on your chin suggly and not be looped under your chin in the space between your chin and your neck.

If you are finding it difficult to get the hat to fit properly never use fillers to make it fit better. You might just have a hat thats not the right size for your head. Using a filler can change the effectiveness of the hat and make it dangerous to use. Its better to ask for a new one then find your own solution.

How do i replace a 4 prong light in my kitchen ceiling ? I have 2 lights that are not working and I bought new ones but they will not come on.

One of the hats (end socket) should be spring loaded. Push the bulb into the spring loaded hat and rotate a quarter turn to get it out. Reverse the procedure to replace the new bulb.

How do you pull the rotor off a 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan?

I am pretty sure you are trying to remove the rear rotor, correct?

The rear rotor also has the e-brake shoes that are on the back side. The rotor is hung up on the shoes of the e-brake. Try tapping the side of the hat of the rotor with a hammer while you pull. this will often release the grip that the ebrake shoes have on the hat of the rotor.

Is there a difference between men and womens cowboy hats? I want to buy one for my boyfriend and dont want to make a mistake.

Cowboy hats can be unisex, but there are some cowboy hats that are designed for women as they have more decorations, ribbons, jewels etc.

Cannot get the rear brake rotors off of my 1999 Ford F-150...what am I doing wrong? Does it take a specific tool?

the rotor to hub tolerance is very tight on these. The rust that has built up between them has fused them together. We have found the fastest way to remove them is to break the rotor surface off of the hat (the part that sticks up and has the holes fro the wheel studs). With a fairly large hammer (a big dead blow works the best) swing towards the truck striking the rotor surface repeatedly until the rotor surface breaks away from the hat. Once it has broken off the hat will relax around the hub and it will tap right off.

If your planning on saving the rotors your out of luck. However you want to get them off they will usually end up broken in some form.

Good luck!

I have a 2003 mercury marquis. Both rear hubs

If you have the caliper and retaining rings off the park brake must be holding it. This vehicle has small parking brake shoes that apply to the inside of rotor hat. Try backing off the adjustment and tap the sides of the hat to free them up.
