This is a well documented issue with Mazda and Tom Tom pointing fingers at each other. You may have to contact Mazda and see what they say about it.

Put it also in another computer system to check it it is working.
If the memory size is 64GB, you might need ex-fat formatting.
This filesystem option must be available on your system's OS.

Try to format your usb flash key with diferent file system example ntfs or fat32. If it will not work try to install diferent format of music into flash drive example wav

In the lower bar next to the clock, you will see an icon that says "Safely Remove Hardware". Click on it and it will ask you which drive you want to shut down. Always use that program before disconnecting a hot (hot = running) drive of any kind that's running.

Try the stick in another device and report back if you can read and write to the stick on that device.

Plug other USB things into that port to see if the port is good.

Although rare, some USB things allow themselves to be inserted backwards.

the upgrading can be done only if the motherboard support if your laptop had sata provision you can use them if you dont have you cant use sata check the motherboard

These are actually ccore flash drives, shipped with the name "Kingston". YOU CAN FORMAT ANY ZIP DRIVE WITH "HP USB DISK STORAGE FORMAT TOOL". Trust me, it really does the needful. I had the same problem earlier =)
