Question about Acer Computers & Internet

No PC stated, at all, (oldest one is 8 years old I think)
ACER ASPIRE ONE is not a pc, it's a series.
the PC has full model name like this.

AOHappyxxxx
AO somehing, like 20 or more models on the LINE.
i clicked the lowest # and was W7
then omg some are chrome books, oops
i clicked more netbooks at acer, and see most are W7
so F8 is it.
but if you upgraded to w10 , when it was free, then not F8
no history on your PC at all.
w7 and below, power on, hammer F8 key.(simple easy and fast()
bingo safe mode. w8 up can be hard or even impossible read on...
Im a hardware guy, so know things bit flippers don't know.
NO symptoms posted so no context to help the helper .at all.
you never once hinted at a problem. if PC is dead, ask whY?
BUT IF A DEAD. PC, (PCs have many single points of failure)
(big battery shorted, remove it first and run on AC pack)
the RTC coin cells last 7 years, so 10 is failure point 2.
and F8 fails, (no OS known) and HDD not dead. (hard disk drive)
we toss the dice , and say, omg this PC looks new, and might be w10, so savvy tech does what. (by looking below)
we (techs)
1: run full hdd tests first after all fixing the OS on dead hDD is and endless pain and fail. (wack a mole madness?)

2: ok hdd tests pass smart tests.
the what? well we boot to Unbuntu v17 , demo media,(free)
and see the files on the boot HDD.
if i see files for the OS dated, as w10 dates.
i then delete the hiberfil.sys file in the root of HDD drive #0
you power on , and w10 sees that missing and go safe mode like like a shot gun wedding,,, bam, safe mode.
The w10 can run like that forever, I am now. typing here.
I have Fast boot off,.
which PC is , in this list, tell the help and win, saves you time

your laptop has been turned off without shutting down. all your laptops registries are probably messed up. the easiest way to do is to reformat your computer or restore it to factory settings. unless you have some important files that you cant afford to lose.

Try taking all of your ram chips out and re-seeting them. I upgraded to 4 gigabytes in my 5100 and it wouldn't boot, just a black screen with some cdrom and hd activity. Or try running with just one ram chip and then going into the bios and setting everything to default. this made my system bootable again.

FAQ and instructions are on the site and once you have burnt it to disc you should be able to recover the data you want and then either do a repair install or a full re install ( if the latter then ) I would wipe / erase the hard drive after you have your data.

Try system restore. During the boot sequence press F11 and follow the instructions. If it fails, try with your installation disk.

SOURCE: acer aspire 5100 stops at agpcpq.sys and keeps rebooting
Hi,
Boot from the CD again and this time run chkdsk /f
This command will try to fix any errors with the file system and check for and recover bad sectors.
