SOURCE: Sony DVD Home Theater System remote control code

I have the same system and one of my dogs got to the remote. I have a philips PMDVR8/PDVR8 universal remote. I was able to get the dav-hdx265 to turn on/off and do volume up and down by using code 0200. I have not been able to get the DVD functionality to work yet, but I will post if I do.

  • You need to change your audio settings in your TVs audio menu. Sounds like it is set to play only external source when connected, There will be a setting for all speakers to play, including TV's. Have your TV's volume up just a hair when changing your settings and you will be able to hear when it changes to what you want.

I have the bd230 5.1 system hooked up the speakers, attached the power cord and hdmi cable from receiver to the tv what else do I need to get sound from my tv I have a hd cable.box do I need to run a cable...

The home theater box performs the production of the sound generation. Also, the theater box, distributes the sound to any display devices like TVs, Music MIxers, DVDR, VCRs, ext. The theater box also has connection ports that are recognisable as receptacle area from speakers, woofers, and twitters that combined to form the home theater of devices acquired. First, start by connecting the component parts of the theater system to the box. For example, speakers to an area on the box, twitters, woofers. At which point, the box would require a power cable to an electrican circuit to display functionality mode. The next step is deciding on which display reciver would be providing sound to the theater setup of blasters. For example, choosing to acquire sound from a TV set is achieved by connection cables that derived sound out of the TV to the theater box. E.G. The TV audio output area provides the connectivity of any external audio blasters like with the theater setup. Using the appropiate audio input output connection cables to acquire sound transfer matters. The device may not have been provided with a TV audio input out cable of connections. Acquire from retail input output cables from TV to theater boxes. Remember that, the theater box may have come with a remote control that require separe operations than the TV. The theater system theraafter would require power on buttons if any separate remote controls were acquired as well. Also, the television set would require alteration settings with the remote control. Adjusting the TV sound settings to acquire or direct internal sound to an external setup infrusture is possible explanation also achievable with TV REMOte controller soon after every wireing cables have been established alos powered on to source of current. Hi i just purchased the GPX ht219b 5.1 home theatet system and it works great for the radio and the dvd player but for the cable t.v it does not sound loud can you help me?

If you're drawing audio from the Cable Box, good. If the Cable Box has a variable audio output you might need to defeat it in the menus somewhere. Look for something like "Fixed". That way the volume control on the box will not affect the feed to the GPX.

If you're drawing audio from the TV, why? See above.

Hook up to tv

hello there. name is ryan lets see if this helps.
typically in a combination unit there is no rca audio ouputs on the tv. reason being is it is a combo unit not meant to be a item within a home theater system. it has the whole home theater built in it. ;) however if there is any audio output jacks on the tv you should be able to wire the surround sound unit up via rca cable output from tv to input on reciever for surround sound

Cannot get the surround to work correctly gpx dvd home theater

Check your setting it may be set to 2.1 or stereo. As for hooking up the tv check for aux or tv audio inputs on the dvd player and attach to the audio outs on the tv. You may need to change the settings on the tv, go to the audio menu on the tv and change from variable to fixed.

Freezing

sounds like a bad solder joint that is cracked...as GPX heats up, the crack starts to get bigger and cutting off electric circuit, then cool down closes the gap and current resumes. First try breaking and then making all possible connections outside then inside unit. Then, if no success, remove the circuit board and clean it with alcohol and brush then carefully look at each solder joint with a magnifying glass. If one found, simply re-solder it.
