This bread maker was given to me as used. The manual was not included and I cannot get it to bake. It kneads the bread beautifully!

Oster 5821 Bread Maker: Paddle froze up, does not move

Hi,
That shaft fits into a sealed bearing that is riveted to the bottom of the pan. When that seal freezes there is no way to free it up. The lubrication in the sealed bearing gets hard, especially if it's not used much..You may try putting hot water in the pan and soaking it but other than that the pan will need replacement. Sorry...Hank
