SOURCE: we have 2.2 miles of fence, the charger is good for

You have got to make sure there are no weeds or brush at all touching the hot wire. Nothing can touch it or it pulls the voltage level way down. Do a full inspection of line.

How to set the collar of a Petafe in ground fence.

1st you have to hold down the little black button on the collar, when it flashes at you release the button.
-Then press the button again and count the # of flashes.
-Keep pressing the button until you get it set to the desired flashes related to the setting you want to use.
-1 flash- audible correction with no shock.
-2 flashes audible correction with low shock.
-3 flashes audible correction with high shock.
It is always recommended to start with the low shock , if using shock setting, then move to higher setting if needed. Most larger dogs require a high shock setting, I have a yellow lab and use the high setting for him. Hope this helps.

I have Parmak S.E.3 fence charger, it's send energy out into wire but not enough to shock cattle, the unit is around a 7 acre field with 2 lines, what could be the problem?

Grounding is very important for an electric fence, especially in dry soil. I normally drive 2 or 3 - 6 foot long ground rods 10 feet apart then join them all together and run that to the charger using double 14 gauge or 12 gauge copper wire. You can get the roda at Tractor Supply.

Get a shock from the tap while showering

I assume by main power feed your talking about the breaker box? If so make sure the breaker box is actually grounded. Also check inside the heater and make sure the ground wire in there is connected and has a solid connection.

When I hook up the ground wire the meter shows not working but when I unhook it, it shows full power.

It sounds like to me that you have something shorting the "shock" output to ground. Check your fence to see if there are any plants, or other objects touching the "Hot" wire to the ground. You could also have a broken or cracked insulator that is causing the short circuit on the output.

Why do my horses keep going through the fence in the winter? We have the 12v solar unit! It seems as though there is a delay with the shock!

Trim your horses whiskers (on the muzzle) and they won't be able to tell if the wire is hot or not. Horses test electric fencing with whiskers. I would suspect because days are shorter and more cloud cover your charger is not producing enough power.

What would cause a small electrical shock when touching the fan or light pull cords on ceiling fan, or even the metal parts of the fan? When you touch any part of the fan you get a slight tingle. We have...

You have a bad ground, be carefull this could lead to a big shock if there ae any bare wires in that Unit! I would turn off the power at the fuse box to this fan and remove it and check for bare wires inside the fan itself if you can. If you don't see any bad wires or any wires touching the fan itself, then I would check the ground wire to that unit! I suspect that it is not grounded!

I bought a Parmak Solar Pak 6. I wanted to use it

when you touch the wire, you are probably wearing shoes, which ground you,
touching it barefoot or kneeling on bare knees should provide a bit more jolt.
take your multi-meter, shove one probe in the ground and touch the wire with the other and you should get a nice reading
