The fuel mixture ratio for a 1957 Johnson 10 HP outboard motor is 50:1, meaning 50 parts gasoline to 1 part 2-stroke oil. It's important to use a high-quality, outboard-specific 2-stroke oil for lubrication, and to always mix the fuel and oil thoroughly before adding it to the fuel tank.
It's also worth noting that the fuel ratio may vary based on the specific model of the 1957 Johnson 10 HP outboard motor and the type of oil being used. It's recommended to check the owner's manual or contact the Johnson Outboard Motor company for the specific ratio recommendation for your engine.

What is the mix ratio for a Johnson outboard motor?
Any Johnson outboard motor built since 1964 requires a 50/1 fuel ratio. Motors built prior to that date require a 32/1 ratio, with the exception of a few fishing motors built prior to 1955 that use a 16/1 ratio.

Do a 40:1 ratio to start, if it smokes cut it back alittle but 40:1 should be ok. Better to be alittle high on mix than not enough.

Carbs probably need to be cleaned and re-built. Common problem in outboards that havent been run in a while
