For a while there, it would work intermittently until finally one night it went out, never to light back up again. I couldn't tell what the problem is by tapping it against something, making sure the spring holding the battery taught was making good contact, etc., but I am down my light and I NEED MY LIGHT! We live on a large property and have a lot of work performed after dark due to our schedule and line of work. Does anyone have any idea why/how it has stopped working and how I can repair it at home? Also, the top end of the flashlight, where it telescopes to adjust the light beam, I can not seem to get in to that section of the light. I was wondering if there may be a breech somewhere at the board? I don't know, I'm a newbie when it comes to flashlight repair, especially LED models, but I am a fairly adept female, not scared to attempt something on my own. If anyone has any pointers, I would really appreciate it!
Things do fail, so maybe it is just time you bought a new flashlight. Something like this is hardly worth repairing. It is doubtful you can get parts if you needed them.
Testimonial: "LOL! Well, I hadn't really thought of it like that! :) I have limited means so I thought maybe I could do something to repair it myself, not even considering the thought that it wasn't a handsome investment that was made for this little item, maybe I should just run over to Home Depot and grab another? Blast! Haha! I just haven't had it very long at all! Thank you for the insight! ;)"

Transformers on power supplys can make that high pitch noise... Did you say that Cap looks extended like Bulging at the top?
Well if your going to attempt this yourself which I feel you are please be careful I could sit here and type paragraphs on what to do but I feel you have enough knowledge to just read up on it.
Capacitors aren't hard to replace.. but... but... that cap could have damaged the transformer so its not converting enough AC to DC.
Good thing is you have ALOT to read before starting please
Bad thing is you might need a new power supply also.
Ok go here it has TONS of info on CAPS tips/tricks

I have replaced so many electronic parts... sometimes I worry about sending people off to do it on their own. Please read all the relivent information on the site.
If you need more help like finding the correct CAP or using 2 Caps in parallel to get the correct pf amount let me know.

sounds like you need to adjust the sensitivity, as you can customize this to prevent accidental double taps.
you should have some software to configure your touchpad, this will either be from the manufacturer or you can use the "mouse settings" in control panel.

Go into the test mode and use 0 4 as the test code between the dispensor board and the main board .(communication test) Sounds like the main control board though .

Look for one on eBay with a crushed screen. Shop carefully and buy the cheapest vs. newest one you can find. A store return being your best bet.
Just think of all the folks who drop them hooking them up or otherwise "pull a whoops" within a few days of upgrading from there old "built like a TANK" CRT and 90% or so end up in the "semi trailer of store-returns" market, and most of those end up on eBay.
AND you'll usually pay a fraction for a like-new (except the LCD) whole monitor than the factory single board price (If even available) and have extra good parts that can be sold or saved for future Fixyas!

I have also experienced the same problem on two occasions, but my Sony TV KDLV3000 has actually been backwards and forwards on three occasions to be repaired. I have had a new control unit and will be having a second screen replacement shortly. I have contacted my local Sony Centre and they have stated that they will only replace the TV if there are THREE IDENTICAL faults.
COME ON SONY CENTRE GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND TAKE A NOTE FROM JOHN LEWIS THERE CUSTOMER CARE IS SECOND TO NONE.
Not sure I'll buy a Sony again after this experience having been a loyal Sony customer for a number of years, will probably look at a Samsung or LG next time.
