Question about Hitachi Televison & Video
I see lots of black horizontal lines across the screen, the lines are really bad when I first turn on the tv and over a few minutes they decrease but not totally gone, I read that it could be some filter capacitors that have aged I'm just not sure which one/s , I can't seem to get a schematic for this TV, any help would be appreciated.
Https://www.manualslib.com/products/Hitachi-55fx20b-233080.html has your manual and does seem like screen fault that noise uk can possibly fix as they are tv repair

This should be a very simple fix. The lines on your screen are call retrace lines. Basically you need to open the TV and the job is about 15 minutes to solve the issue with arched lines, either blue, greed, or red. There is a great how-to guide here: http://www.somelifeblog.com/2007/06/sony-projection-tv-red-line-repair.html

On the KDFE55A20 this sounds like a bad Q-Box. I would get an estimate from a Sony authorized servicer as this part may be quite expensive. On the 55A10 model this may be the B-Block and is also quite expensive. Getting an on-sit estimate would be the first step I suggest. Again go with an authorized Sony servicer. Call Sony or go to Sony.com for customer service. Good Luck

My 42" Samsung Plasma HDTV HP-R4252 has a 2" vertical strip of green pixels down the right side of the screen.
My 3 year warranty with Circuit City expires in Nov 2008.. so I hope I'm covered.. can't call until the morning.
Samsung said it might be a logic board problem.. but they want almost $2000 to fix. I might as well buy another TV if Circuit City can't fix it.

The line is there because the vertical deflection unit - the one that spreads that line across the entire screen to form the image - has failed. Replacing it is a job for a professional, or at least an experienced amateur, and the parts will be quite difficult to find for such an old tv .

Tips for a great answer:
If you were to log on to the
manufacturer's web site, I think you will be pleasantly surprised as
usually one is able to download, by model number, Customer
Instruction Manuals, list
of Dealers for spare part supplies as required.
Just Google the manufacturer's name and
follow the links. Make certain you are directed to the manufacturer's
web site as some search engines direct you to other sites and they
charge for the information that is normally free of charge.
I hope this helps.
