SOURCE: my swingline electric stapler model 42130 is

Taking the stapler apart is a complex task if you can figure how to do that.To dismantle the stapler, slide back the top, remove two small screws on both sides, six on the bottom, four of the screws are under the sticker so you must peel off the sticker, you must also remove the sticker on top. There two tiny shinny screws at the bottom once you are inside. Now you have access to more screws you can take off to get to the staples place where the jam is. Watch cables where they are plugged to in case they come off. If you are are a mechanical technician or technically inclined you might be able to fix this yourself but you must be very patient.

SOURCE: electric stapler won't staple

On the side of the stapler are the instructions - no joke - stick a flathead at the lip of the metal striker and push the flat head up - while pushing the realse at the back - use A LOT of force - that is how ours popped open. It was jammed in the back with several staples that were not visible as a jamb in the front where the staples come out. the whole magazine will pop out when it is freed.

Swingline Optima 45 Stapler - cannot slide tray back in stapler, no staples jamming

Sometimes the rectangular insert where the staples sit on, gets dislodged. On the underside of channel insert is a spring and when correctly seated is in between the tabs of the bottom piece. If the insert isn't in between the tabs, it sits too high and makes it difficult to open and close the staple tray. The staples will jam.

User manual for one touch stapler H60

To fix the Staple's One Touch Stapler, you must pull the stapler open so it's at a straight angle. Then look at the picture on the bottom of the stapler. Its' saying to pull out the black click thing and then (here's the tricky part) put the staples into the body of the stapler, not the part you just pulled out. I always have to relearn that. My learning curve is getting slightly better, though.

Swingline optima 40 how do you open and close the stapler?

Swingline heavy duty staplers provide the power to staple up to 120 pages of 20-lb. paper easily and consistently. The all-metal construction of these staplers makes them an indispensible office tool. However, the way to load staples into a Swingline heavy duty stapler differs from the method for loading most other manual staplers and can cause a little confusion.
Difficulty:Easy Instructions

    • 1 Remove the follow block at the back of the stapler by pushing the mechanism in, lifting the block up over the holding hooks and sliding it out from the stapler. The follow block is the spring-loaded mechanism that holds the staples in place within the stapler.
    • 2 Load the heavy-duty staples into the staple tray.
    • 3 Replace the follow block by inserting it back into the stapler and locking it into place over the holding hooks.

I have tried to reload the stapler but it will NOT staple What am I doing wrong?

1. Make sure you have the correct staples for the machine. This machine requires "standard" staples, which are 1/4" staples.

2. Check the staple cartridge to make sure there are no visible jams.

3. Check the power connection to the stapler. Is it plugged in? Is the plug working?

4. If you continue to experience problems, contact the manufacturer at
1-800-STAPLES. They will replace the stapler if it continues to malfunction.

I can't seem to reload staples into this stapler. I used the staples that came with it and it worked fine. I try reloading and it doesn't staple.

With the stapler sitting a solid surface, turn it 180 degrees so it is pointed away from you, and you are looking at the back. Press down on the plastic extension that you see (about mid-height on the stapler). This releases the staple-holding compartment (it shoots out the front of the stapler). Reload it with standard staples, push the compartment back in place until you hear a click. Voila!

You need to open the stapler from the back. Push the black piece at the back of the stapler in, then pull it up and out. Remove the jammed staples, and reinstall. Make sure you use the correct staple . It appears to be: SWINGLINE 35550 HIGH CAPACITY STAPLES, 3/8"
