Crosley electric dryer Model CEDS63SQ0 won't start. I can hear the timer but nothing happens when I push start button.

Heated fine but the next time I went to use it, it wouldn't start. If a thermal fuse, where would I find it?

SOURCE: Kenmore electric dryer won't start

The first thing I would check would be the door switch. Dryers operate on 220 volts. Many brands split the 220v into 110v for controls and motor and 110v to the heater. There are also safety systems on many brands that won't allow the heater to come on if the fan motor is not running and blowing air throught he element to prevent overheating and dryer fires. If the door switch is ok, check the belt. If the belt is ok, it could be a problem with the motor start switch. The motor start swith is complicated fix and should be done by a professional. ALWAYS BE SURE TO DICONNECT THE POWER BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY REPAIRS.

Make sure it has power. Then:Check the door switch. A little lever sticking down through top right of door opening. If it is not there you will need new door switch(sometimes the little lever breaks off). If it is there and does not click when you press it in you need a new door switch. if it clicks when you close the door then you have a bad thermal fuse. The thermal fuse is found by taking the back of the dryer off. The fuse is an oblong white plastic piece with 2 wires attached.

Door switch part number 3406109
Thermal fuse part number 3392519

SOURCE: Kenmore Dryer-90 Series- Pushed Start button nothing happened

get a meter, unplug the dryer and read out the fuse, pull one of the wires off when you read it out, also when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer?if it's the fuse usually the air isn't moving very well, you need to clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into, vac out the inside of dryer where the motor is and clean out the vent line and make sure the outside vent is clear,if it's a long run from the back of dryer to the outside i use a leaf blower to blow out the vent line, make sure you have 240 coming in at the back of dryer, you could have a blown fuse,if the thermal fuse is good, check the thermostats on the heater box and read out the heater, good luck,if i can help with anything else let me know

Whirlpool dryer will not start, used to start if I turned timer

whirlpool electric dryer will not start when you push start button. Model No. LER5634AW0. There is power to the dryer. The door switch appears to be working,(didn't check it with a meter). I push the start button, run it through all the cycles and still nothing. Are there any resets or circuit breakers that I could check? Where do I go from here?

My Crosley dryer not drying

You will have to ensure the tub belt is not broken or off the motor pulley. Also, you may have a bad push to start switch or door closed switch. Open door and manual hold in door switch and have someone to push the start button if there is any sound or attempt to start these switchs are most likely good and your problem is with the belt. Hope this helps God Bless

Whirlpool dryer model LEQ8800JQ won't start when push start butto

I posted today (Jan 2, 2009) that I had same problem. Handyman tested for blown thermal fuse, etc and everything was fine. He said I have to replace the timer switch .. well guess what - I fidgeted with the start button (on/off) hard a few times while simultaneously pressing & releasing door switch and it did the trick. In my case the problem was most likely with the start button. Dryer is working fine now!
