What does The Hourglass symbol mean on a Samsung front load washer

It's a symbol for the dryer door lock.

The hourglass symbol usually means the machine is "Delayed" This might be because of a breakage or issue inside the machine. If this is not the case, check the user instruction manual

Haven't done this exact model but usually it means keypad locked (child lock) should be in the manual how to unlock. Usually hold down a couple of buttons for 5sec.( most of the time a faint lock symbol will be written between the buttons on the button panel.)

I am having the same issue as well i.e i can set the cycle but the washer wont start (the hourglass Icon remains lit). If i press the off button. The display shows off but the display doesnt shut down. Thought this might a control board issue. Bought one off of ebay & replaced it. Did not make any difference (p.s the machine is outside of US so calling service is not an option).

CODE SYMBOL = 5Ud5
MEANING = Too many suds are detected during the washing session.
The unit is put on hold until the suds are reduced. Then, the unit will go back to the operation.
When it finishes washing, End and SUdS codes will blink in turn
SOLUTION = To prevent it, cut down on detergents.

Actually it is UE error.It means UNBALANCE error where either the machine is not LEVEL or wash inside is on one side.

hi, an hourglass symbol indicates that it is loading or your computer is trying to access the unit. Hope this helps. goodluck

It may not be your temperature sensor or thermistor. If you have a tE error code on your Samsung washing machine, first check the wiring. My Samsung washer had three visits by the repair tech. and new parts ordered again and again. I looked on a British web site and two people said that it turned out to be wiring broken in several places. Sure enough, I found a broken wire. Technician didn't look for that. Hope it's as easy for you.
