SOURCE: error code 22 on a Mitsubishi WS-55907 55'' HDTV
your set is the V17 series so a code 22 means short protect. Which means the TV has a short circuit condition and is shutting down to prevent further damage. You can get a manual for the V17 sereis at the following link for 15.99 and they will provide free unlimited support to help you with the diagnosis and locating parts. Your set is coverd in the V17 sereis service manual under the mitsubishi section. Here is the link in case youd like the service manual and free support.

SOURCE: protector glass on a mitsubishi 55in hdtv 1080 #ws-55315
I have the same tv and I took my clear shield off and never put it back on. The picture is much better without it as it will reflect light and objects in the room making it difficult to see the pic clearly. I was told by a service tech that the primary purpose of the glass or shield is to prevent damage to the screen from objects, water etc. If you have no small children in the home you can enjoy a better pic.

SOURCE: mitsubishi hdtv 1080 ws-a65 screen broke need replacement
there are 2 functionality screens and 1 screen protector (on some)
front screen = lenticular
back screen = fresnel
very front screen = screen protector (you can replace w plexiglass)
the fresnel and lenticular are very specific.. contact your local repair center for a new one. you can cut them from old screens but have to do just right (fresnel is a lens type - pic will be distorted if off center)
maybe find a old junker tv to pull screens from because new ones are about $100 a piece

Easy fix, pull the DM board ( box with the digital audio orange plug to the left of the patch bay)
this box has several multi cable plugs , but all are labeled with a two letter system and so is the board where they go this makes it easy to put back together
Pull out and open the box ( about 12 screws and then pull the cover off) you will see a small board with 3 cables attached, pull this board by removing the 4 screws and then replace the 7 capasitors with a 25v 1000mf or 35v 1000mf either will work, the 25 volt fit a bit easier. make sure to put the longer leg in the + position on the board! ~ now replace everything and enjoy your set!
