Could’ve it’s not getting enough water. Defective water valve would cause this.

Hmmmmmmmm. If the water goes in and the pump starts yet there is no washing action I would suspect that you have an impeller failure. The impeller on Bosch dishwashers is a two piece unit and the plastic rivets slowly dissolve until he impeller fails in 2 pieces. The fix is a new impeller which is supplied with a new seal as well. I believe Bosch does this to avoid running so long without renewing the seal and having a leak. I can't think of any other reason to have a dishwasher soluble part for an impeller. It's a bit of a bit** to fix but there are good videos on utube.

SOURCE: small plastic top and mid spray arm do not turn, bottom does

decrete, you want to get down to the chopper and screen. If the screen is plugged up with gunk there won't be enough pressure to reach the top spray arms. Check out the posted pics. Remove the lower spray arm. Rotate the rear feed arm to the right until it unsnaps from the tube going up the back. See the 4 torq screws holding the filter on. Remove them. Lift the filter up. Now you will see the chopper inlet cover. 1 torq screw holding it in. Lift it up and there's the chopper and screen. Catriver..post back

SOURCE: Bottom Dishwasher arm not turning

have you seen whether water is pouring out of the bottom supply tube with the lower arm removed? not 100% sure on this model but some units have a half load switch but that should turn off the top one. there may be a blockage in the lower water supply tubeways.

Normally when you have low water pressure and/or cleaning issues, this an indication of a clog in your main wash pump. You will need to remove the lower spray arm and the coarse screen to get to the main wash pump sump. Inspect the impeller area of the pump. This area is usually where accumulations of debris collect and keep the pump from pulling enough water. Things like orange seeds, lemon seeds, bottle cap liners, chicken bones, and jar labels are just a few of the items I have personally found. Although, dishwashers do a good job at removing most food particles, they are not garbage disposals. I bet you will find a clog in the sump somewhere. Let me know if this helps.

SOURCE: Lower spray arm does not spin on my bosch dishwasher

The quality/quantity of responses you get here on FixYa can greatly vary for WHEN you place your question.

There are a handfull of "experts" who use fixya that simply have a generic cut and paste answer for every question asked on FixYa.

"Final Answer" is one.

Many have little to no english skills, and resort to cutting and pasting the same answer to every question.

I apologize for their ignorance and im sure your post will soon be answered by knowledgeable QUALIFIED personnel.

Real answers are not automated here - I assure you. Give it a little time for our experts in the US to wake up and get coffee into their system.

We are not employed by FixYa - sitting in a little cubicle waiting to answer questions. Most of FixYa experts do this in their spare time between real service calls.

Be assured that if you are not satisfied - it is easy to request a refund. Please email [email protected] if in the next day or so you have not gotten a fix to your problem.

Now that's out of my system I can try to help troubleshoot your problem.

Bosch dishwashers use a water system called FLOW CONTROL... which utilizes a valving system to control which arm gets water during the cycles.

Most washers see water at both arms all the time. Yours is controled with a PLC and uses information gathered from onboard sensors to tell the valves to open or close.

Your Lower sprayarm valve is faulty, or the controller board is bad.

Since we do not know your mechanical/troubleshooting skillset - all we can do is offer advice and try and help you if you feel this is a problem you would rather attempt to tackle yourself.

I have searched BOSCH website and could not find your model washer in their documentation. Please double check that it is SHV55M03GB/40 that you posted.

SOURCE: Bosch dishwasher: won't fill with water

The flood switch is tripped. This is located under the unit. Unplug or flip the breaker to the dishwasher, take off the black kick plate under the door, 2 screws, and you will see the white plastic "pan". The flood switch is located where you can't really see it but it is on the left hand side wall and is made of styrofoam. The best thing to do is to put some rags in the pan, this is not easy because there is little room to put them, and soak-up the water that has filled the pan. Eventually you will get enough water out that the float will deactivate the switch. What you hear "running" when you turn it on is actually the drain pump, it get activated when the flood switch is tripped.

Bosch SHU5312 Dishwasher. The spray arms do not operate. Unit does fill with water.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to Model Series.

The force of the water spins the arms. Can you hear the pump running? Have you cleaner the upper and lower filter? The lower one can block with fine lint enough to block flow and it the one owners forget because you can't see it easily.

Bosch silence plus 50dba not washing dishes! using Jet dry, recently cleaned the screen. any other troubleshooting ideas? ThNk you!

Check to make sure the spinner washing parts are loose and spinning. You can turn them by hand. Many times plates are too tall and block the washing arms from spinning. Push all the baskets in and look into machine and spin the arms. If that's not it then it's somehhing rlectronic that's not taking the machine thru the cycles.
